There are 2 exams and a final (if you've done well on the first 2, final is not mandatory), an interesting stock market extra credit, 1 essay on stocks market, 1 creative project and a couple of extra credits, the exams and lectures are long but not heavy. If you got 87%, 88% or 89% she might give you an A.

Prof Carter is very helpful and encouraging!! She makes class SO interesting. Lots of extra credits; you literally get extra credits by playing games in class, like guessing which GOT character will die first HAHA. 3 exams (drops the lowest score), and some fun projects. Pay attention in class and you will get that A.

You must motivate yourself to learn the material. I did the entire AP MICROECON Khan Academy videos and that is what helped me learn better than textbook. Her gift is that she makes hard concepts really easy. She is messy with schedule so bare with her. 3rd time taking this class and she mad it crystal clear for me. xtra cred. curves tests

Yes she is nice, the material is difficult in some sections. For example the graphs. My problem was that she didn't teach enough concrete information in class to learn the substantial material. In class their were jokes and games, but when I reviewed the chapter alone at home; I was lost on the difficult sections. People pass by her grace.

Read chapters from the textbook. Get help from Youtube ( ACDC Econ). Practice examples online. Attend Classes. Watch Videos Inequality for All and Inside Job. Exams are a little challenging but she curves ( 10 points). One project and a Finance Game due a the end of semester. No Homework. No quizzes. Knowledgeable. Very understanding.

Offers bonus points in class, which are important because test are VERY hard. She is an extremely nice teacher which shows through her lectures. Feels as if she is part of the class. Would take this class again even though it was extremely difficult because she is such a great professor. Would recommend reading the book, and attending lectures.

this class is no longer easy and it was actually quite misleading. She tells you you don't need a textbook yet the tests are 100% on her "recommended textbook" people talk over her & she doesn't try to stop it, every time I asked for help her answer was read the book, I even got a tutor and that didn't help. TESTS ARE HARD, don't take this class!

shes a great teacher, she makes the class interesting and shows us great videos... her notes are simple and you think you understood everything, BUT her tests are MUCH MORE complicated than her lectures. you NEED a book and you need to learn a lot on your own.

Great all-around professor! She understands & explains students with any questions.Applies macro to reality and her stories are intriguing and interesting. 3 exams knocks one out of the ballpark / Stock Essay / Final Project. Study the notes she gives in class (important). I received an A in her class.

Prof. Carter is amazing! She makes the class fun. Exams based on notes, so if you take great notes you don't even need to study anything extra. Book not required. Drops the lowest exam score. Curves exam grades for quite bit. Get A's on the first 2 exams and you will be nearly done with the calss! Lets go home early,so don't worry!

Dr. Carter's lectures are organized, precise, and easy to follow. For me, they were way too slow, but that's subjective. The tests are challenging for some, but the curve is generous. The stock market project is fun, but the other project is kind of a pain(the only real bad part about the class). Also, she usually lets the class out early.

Great professor! Gives structured notes, 3 multiple choice test drops the lowest one. So you don't have to take the final. Fun stock market project. Test can be tricky, you need to understand the topic. Fortunately, the tests are curved to the max!! So you don't need to worry! Doesn't take attendance. What more do you want?

I took Dr. Carter for both my Micro & Macro class. She is one of the best teachers at SMC. Test can be a bit tricky but if you study you should be fine. You can get any book for this class but I recommend getting the book she refers to in her syllabus. I highly recomend her.

Professor Carter is a great teacher. She makes economics look interesting and easy to understand. Her notes are great and if you attend every lecture, take all her notes you don't need to read the book. You can dropp the lowest grade out of three exams and she grades with a generous curve, plus a non-formal essay and stock-project for credit/n.credit.
