Dr. Sever is a very knowledgable man. He knows what he is teaching, and is very laid back. Some people mistake "laid back" for boring. There's a difference. He gives study guides for the tests and they are very fair tests. He does not take attendance, but regular attendance/ note taking makes your papers/ tests 1000x easier!!! Nice eyes ;)

This class is not as easy as people on here make it out to be ..however, still relatively easy. The entire class is out of 40 points and 38.4 gets you an A ..but he does give you the exam questions beforehand, and although lectures are boring, the exams are fairly easy. The only annoying thing was a 15 page reflection on your volunteer hours

I recommend the course! At first it was boring and Sever can be a little confusing during his lectures, but if you take good notes you will get an A in the class for sure. He makes sure you are well prepared for the exams. Sever may seem a little quirky but it adds to the class and I actually think he is pretty funny.

Severs is a ridiculously boring man, however this class is an easy A. I barely showed up except for exams and still got a 95. Sit near the front when you go, he mumbles and makes you want to fall asleep. He tells you exactly whats on the tests, regurgitate the few notes he gives you. Seriously, easy but sooooo boring. The service sucks- 20 hrs

need to go to class but don't need to pay attention, just take notes. notes = on exams. 3 exams including final. don't need to read books he assigns. easy grader. need 20 hours of community service though but very easy to get an a in class. sense of style and personality a little weird but makes class more interesting!

Easy A... as long as you come to class and take notes... The guy has a weird taste in clothing, wears fruity colors.. very quirky at time and can go off tangent.. the only downside is... he expects you to buy these books and read it only to find out that it won't be on the test... worth taking

Barely did the readings, came to class most of the time but skipped 3-4 and got an easy A. Most effort went into the project which would have been much better if I did it with someone i knew. Got to watch sponge bob and another movie of your voting choice. Cool and easy goin teacher IMO

he is sort of fun and quirky, doesn't expect too much out of you, but there is a ton of homework. he is kind of a jerk as well. correction: really a jerk. i had an 89.9 which landed me a B+, when myself & other students in the class asked why he didn't round so we could get the A-, he said he didn't feel it was necessary b.c it's still below 90!!!

Had him as a fill in when Vigen took maternity leave.Nice guy.REALLY quirky in an eccentric grad student kind of way.Funny and knowledgable for sure. Standards aren't ridiculous. Can go off on tangents sometimes but has some self-control. Good guy overall, worth taking.

Textbooks are VERY interesting, the only problem is that he doesn't use them. We read interesting material, but then the lectures are boring and seemingly pointless to the class. Grading is VERY tough. Anyone who called his class an easy A is WRONG, the whole thing is out of 40 points, and you have to get a perfect score on everything to get an A.

Took over for Vigen when she went on maternity leave. Sever is definitely strange and awkward. He was a very picky grader. On our papers, he criticized grammar and technical errors instead of the material itself and refuse to change it. He likes to go on and on about nothing.

Timothy Sever is a good professor that definitely knows his material. However, his lectures are always boring. He usually can't complete his lecture due to his constant rants about nothing. The class is an easy A. The readings are not necessary and it's only two papers.

The lectures are a little dry, but he definately keeps the chuckles occasionally coming with his silly jokes about an uncle involved in Hell's Angels and a family who is completely unsupportive of his theology pursuit. Two papers and a quiz create a not very stressful environment. Moral problems could be more interesting and invigorating.

Reading is pointless and will get you no one. Lectures have nothing to do with course material and his quizzes are misleading; still easy. Two Papers (not bad) and a project. No Tests!! :) He's a really nice guy and means well. He is also quite humorous, however don't expect to learn anything. Take it if you dislike the THEO core and want an A.

ah, timmy. where to begin. the first Sever to attend college, this fine young theology professor prides himself with extensive knowledge in group ethics, a fashionable wardrobe of parachute pants and sketchers, and jokes with Immanuel Kant as a punchline. visibly amused by his own lectures. is a communist. may live with mother. i love him.
