Comment:
Prof. Goodspeed is a nice person, but not a great professor. Personally can't stand the monotony, but the material is straight forward. The exams are not very hard, he copies a lot of the questions from end-chapter reviews that he provides us with. He does curve the exams, but still expect to study. It's a "better to teach yourself" kind of class.

Okay to be fair economics is definitely not my favorite subject. Attendance is not mandatory and honestly if you just study his practice exams you should not have a problem passing the class. He curves a lot which definitely helped my grade as well as several of my classmates who struggled in his class!

He is a nice guy. This class was hard but he is really lenient with grading. You can pass the course with 50s on all exams and still get a good grade at the end. He is alright teaching the stuff but you wouldn't really learn from him at all. Just read the textbook and do the homework problems and you will do great. His exams are all short response

He is not as bad as people make him out to be. Class material itself is pretty tedious, but if you study you'll be fine. Attendance is not mandatory but you really should attend as he explains harder things in more detail. His curving made it so I received A's all semester

Lectures are boring and optional. He downloads the slides from myeconlab then reads them for lecture, so you could just stay home and download the slides. Test are hard, but he curves based on how the class did. He said final was a "piece of cake", it was not(pretty sure I failed). Hard class, curves A LOT, I would have gotten a C or lower.

Horrible class. So many homework assignments and the lectures are so boring that you can fall asleep. Doesn't check attendance and the tests are so hard that if you don't study there is no chance to pass even with a curve. Avoid at all costs.

Professor Goodspeed is a monotonous professor who you can fall asleep by being in his presence. His class is pretty tough. The online homework is mandatory and it is not too bad, but the exams are horrific. He has bad communication skills and overall, I believe he is knowledgeable, but not the best professor. I do not suggest! Try to avoid.

He gives a lot of curves but he just reads off of he slides and you have to study a lot for his exams. He takes attendance once or twice during the semester. He is extremely smart but it sometimes makes him go fast through the topics which makes him hard to understand.

Super great voice, loves the way he says smoothies. Class over all was pretty easy, lots of opportunities to do well. It's on you to do well, you can't get away without learning the course materials. He takes attendance for the first week and after that hardly ever. Over all good class, not his fault that the subject matter is pretty boring

very educated and kind, great professor. he just says um a lot which is kind of frustrating but he is very knowledgeable and accessible outside of class so easy to get in contact with him when you are doubtful.

What's the point of coming to class when he reads the same crap off his slides? As an intro class for econ, this professor is very lackluster. All of his slides are copied and pasted from examples and definitions in the book which you can look at yourself at home. It's a shame how his TA is better at teaching than he is. Don't take this professor.

Lectures last forever & he reads off of slides that are on math lab. Attendance isn't mandatory, if you go sit in the front. His TA has review sessions before and after the test, this honestly helped the most. It would be more helpful if you could see what questions you got wrong on the test, because he just gives you a blank copy of it to review.

I'm in my 4th year, graduating in Spring. So far this professor is the best econ professor I've ever gotten! I finally understood what my major was about, not kidding! He makes everything clear, the most complicated graphs I always struggled with became one of my favorite things to do! Polite, intelligent and very respectful!!!

He is the absolute WORST!!! Don't think for 1 sec that its because i failed because i passed but he is at the bottom of the todom poll. 1st off, he cannot project his voice pass the first row of students and he is monotone. His grading is extremely reasonable but his exams and in class explanations are extremely difficult to understand. STAY AWAY!!

The best way to pass is to do the online quizzes and study the notes. The exams are pretty fair if not easy. Sometimes I found myself emailing Professor Goodspeed twice to catch his attention but he does help when he finally notices. His lecture classes are tedious but attendance is not mandatory. Exams are easier than the quizzes.

USE MY MATH LAB TO THE FULLEST! It offers practice questions, step-by-steps, a mastery tracker, and ALL lecture slides. His exams are derived from my math lab, but not nearly as hard. He grades on a curve. 2 non-cumulative midterms (25% ea) cumulative final (35%) weekly online quiz via econ lab (10%) - no make-ups. Drops the lowest 4 quizzes.

He's a decent guy, very well-mannered and seems like he has your best interest in mind. The only gripe is that he is BORING. He has a very monotone voice and really has no variation in his teaching style. No liveliness, no enthusiasm--- just a few bad jokes here and there. All in all, you can pass his class if you're there and read the textbook.

One of the most dull and boring professors I had ever taken. No one shows up to class and he simply reads off the powerpoint. 3 tests and weekly homework that is 10% of your grade with the test being the rest. Do not take if you want an easy grade many students did credit no credit. Best advice is to stay away.
