Amazing teacher. He's so helpful and really WANTS you to succeed. Consistent office hours. The work is challenging but if you stick to his guidelines, you will succeed. My essays improved over just one semester. Loved the textbook. Gets work back to you SO FAST! Answers calls and emails really quick. Great, constructive feedback on work.

HE is an amazing teacher. Super cool, nice, down to earth, funny. He really works with u if u need him to. The homework and essays are all interesting-NOT boring. My favorite thing about him-HE GETS GRADES BACK TO YOU SO FAST!

I just took English writing 302 online with Mr. Miner, who is a passionate teacher that assigns interesting and thought-provoking work load and motivates students by encouraging engagement in the class discussion boards as well as by providing valuable feedback. A quick grader, he provided me the opportunity to succeed in his course.

Awesome professor! If you enjoy writing, this class will be a breeze for you. If writing isn't your strong suit, Professor Miner will be a great help. Always gives constructive feedback, promptly. Fast grading. Very organized, easy to get a hold of, and willing to help. 2 discussion boards per week, 4 essays total, and a few short assignments.

Miner taught a GREAT online class. I had never taken one and I felt at ease. His expectations are clear and he is extremely helpful. He wants you to succeed and if you go talk to him at office hours he will give you concise advise on how to improve. I would take from him again!

I've never taken an online class before, but I woud take any online class that Tom teaches if I had to again. He does a great job answering questions promptly and really gets you to think. He has a wonderful sense of humor and makes you think about pressing issues. HIGHLY recommend.

Mr. Miner is very helpful & clear about his expectations. If there are concerns or the student is not succeeding, he has office hours that are available for this purpose. He doesn't want you to fail & will work with you to help you improve your writing. I find it difficult to get a non-passing grade if the student is honestly trying.

I took ENGWR302 online and was very happy with the class. It is not hard to receive an 'A' in the class if you simply do the discussion boards each week, turn in homework (he doesn't assign a lot), and do well on the four essays he assigns. He is very straight forward in following the syllabus and in his grading. I would def. recommend.

He is very helpful and straight forward. He does not bend or change the rules for anyone, but then again, this what professors are SUPPOSED to do and often, professors allow people to get away with missing assignments, etc and it teaches bad habits for future classes. He follows the syllabus to a T which makes the class very clear.

I took his online 300 class last semester and immediately enrolled in the 302 this semester. I love online classes because I work full-time and am a single mom, and Mr. Miner goes out of his way to be helpful. The textbook is only $14 and the assignments are interesting.

Not impressed. Unless your a genius when it comes to writing, I dont recommend him. Overall class structure is simple. He grades very hard on essays. I did well in other english classes before this one and did terrible his class. Dont expect any higher than a C+ on your papers. He says himself he rarely gives out an A. Not worth the headache.

I took Prof. Miner's online class and I must say, for anyone not to do well in this class, they had to have gone out of their way to do bad because it was all extremely straight-forward. This is a great class even for people who've never taken an online class before. Take Miner for English 300!

Comment:

Professor Miner is very nice and very helpful. The only issue I had with his teaching style was that he would often praise an essay and provide little criticism but then would issue a B grade. Do not go into this class expecting an easy A. However, if you enjoy a challenge with a nice professor, take Miner.
