I took her for both Early American History and Modern American History. She is a fantastic teacher. However, she does not put up with any BS. there are 3 Exams, and about 4-6 papers and daily quizzes. the papers are pretty easy as long as you show respect and argue your point well, plus good grammar skills. also, do the extra credit!

This class consisted of three tests, three papers, and 16 chapter quizzes. The papers are shredded apart unrealistically and the feedback she gives you isn't even spelled properly or it has awful grammar, but yet she feels the right to tell you that you are a bad writer who does not care enough about your papers. How ironic. Ridiculous teacher.

I took her online class. She has a total of 16 quizzes (you get 2 tries to complete them), 8 discussion posts, 3 tests, and 3 papers. She is a very hard grader when it comes to her papers, but as long as you follow all the directions you will at least get a passing grade. She is extremely strict on deadlines, no exceptions.

Dr. McDaniel is one of the best professors I have ever had at PSTCC. She gives really great lectures. Do your work and take notes. You will need to keep up with the readings, its one chapter per week (quiz weekly). Info bursts are helpful. Tough grader on papers, but her feedback is a live saver. If you need help just ask.

Took the online version of her class. Weekly quizzes, bi-weekly(ish) discussion questions, 3 exams and 3 papers. For the quizzes and exams, google is your friend. Questions are very specific so it's hard to study for them, but everything is open book obviously. She grades the written reports VERY tough, so spend a lot of time working on those!!

Work on the IDs before the tests like crazy. Know that stuff. Go up to her after class and ask her to give you a list of the possible IDs for that day, and go do them. Wikipedia is your friend.

What an amazing professor! Her notes are online and if you print them out before each class all you have to do is follow along. She has many grade opportunities, so as long as you turn everything in on time it should be an easy A. Also before each chapter quiz and tests listen to her info bursts; they will save your life!

Worst professor I have ever had. Instead of telling you what you how to do better with your paper, she completely tears it apart and criticizes EVERY sentence. I have no respect for someone who talks so nasty about someone's paper. Do not take her unless you want to get D's on all your papers and feel awful about yourself!!

This class is hard in itself. However, there are three big papers and four tests that consist of very difficult questions. She gives you plenty of time to answer them though. This class is all reading and taking your OWN notes. She does not offer notes online that pertain very well with the material. She grades tough on the papers.

I took this class online and it was AWFUL. Dr. McDaniel's papers were IMPOSSIBLE to get a decent grade on. I received A's on my papers at UTK and in this class I was getting low C's and D's. She was very rude in her feedback and she told me I was a bad writer with "little experience." Do not take her unless you want to be criticized.

More of her time was taken spent threatening about how she doesn't bend on rules then teaching the class itself. The questions for the quizes were very few and extremely vague. 5 questions which were extremely minor in terms of importance and buried in the chapters. Also 3 chapters, 2 quizes, 1 paper, 3 days. Better not have a job or other classes.

She is an AMAZING teacher! She is always willing to help you with anything. She also makes sure you understand everything before moving onto another topic. She does not care helping you with anything you need. I highly recommend her as a teacher.

Amazing teacher! If you show up for class and listen you will do well. She expects a lot, but give you all the tools you need to be successful. You can tell she actually cares about her students. By far the best teacher I have had at Pellissippi.

I made an A. I had to read the text and study for it. I go to school full time and I work 2 jobs. So its not like I have every second to study. Shes extremely helpful. Ask if you dont understand. The essays are not that bad. Tests are middle range. Its college, not grade school.
