Very straight forward online class. Discussion board assignments every week based on the "lectures" she provides plus a couple of exercises and essays (not difficult). 5 tests total no final cumulative exam which is nice. Just do your work and you'll get an A easy. Just don't expect your grades to be uploaded anytime soon.

Comment:

Easy A. Ended with a 99%, she gives weekly discussion boards (not long), and the tests are found online. Final was just a fifth test, not cumulative. Textbook was provided but barely used. Really easy class and I would recommend taking her.

If you're looking for an easy A credit, take this class. You really don't even need to read the book or the modules as the discussion boards are easy. They're worth only 1 credit and you don't have to reply to other students ever. The tests are not timed and the exercises are so easy. Don't expect any feedback from her. Takes a long time to grade.

Her interaction with students is very poor, but honestly her discussion board questions were very reasonable and made you think deep. I liked her class for it was easy and not a lot of work at once. She makes TONS of mistake so always check after she grades and contact her. I might take her for a second class.

Took her online for soc 120 and it was a very easy A. Discussions are a point each and are very simple. You don't get much interaction with her so make sure to keep up your pace with very minimal help.

Professor Hines was a refreshing teacher to have for class. She is attentive, reasonable, and easy to follow never putting too much pressure or stress to her students workload. I would recommend her class to any future student interested in taking a Sociology course.

Such an easy class. She provided our textbook and we barely used it. There was one small paper the entire semester. She's not great at responding to emails promptly but it doesn't really matter because the class is so simple. Do the discussions and your golden.

Super easy class, weekly discussion posts, 5 m/c exams, and a few easy papers. So if you just need the credit then its ok. If you want to learn anything, be stimulated, be taught something, get feedback, have thoughtful up to date material then choose another class or professor.

No interaction between the professor and the students apart from posting the weekly assignments. Glacially slow in grading papers. Easy course but you learn nothing from the professor. Very poor.

Overall the course was somewhat easy. Weekly discussion boards counted as attendance. She NEVER responded to emails and NEVER admitted she made a mistake. Syllabis was unhelpful when it came writing assignments. Had basically no time to do the writing assignments. Takes her forever to grade assignments. Never taking another class taught by her.

Probably one of the most useless professors I've ever had. She never doesn't anything, doesn't communicate with her students, doesn't answer emails, and even though there is a syllabus half the time no one is sure what we're actually doing. Absolutely no effort from her. The only thing I can say is it is an easy class if you log in every day.

Took online. Requires work but very doable. Online quiz of 10 questions every week. About 4 tests of 50 questions. Two short papers (750 words) and a weekly discussion. So there is a good bit of work. Enjoyed the class. Only downside is e-mails are not promptly answered.

SHE IS A NICE PERSON, THOUGH THE ONLINE CLASS CAN BE VERY HECTIC.. THE TESTS ARE VERY TOUGH, SOMETIMES HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT YOU STUDIED.. Took the online class over the summer. Very clear on her expectations and instructions. Reading is a must or you will be lost really quick. All questions are straight out of the book.

BORING!!! Takes forever to return grades. Doesnt let you see your answers after the tests are graded to see what you missed. Seems unorganized and doesnt put in very much effort in online class. Seems to be an easy A, but the book is super dry and tough to get in to. If you have to take soc, its a pretty easy class... but a drag!!! BORING!!

Try to keep up on the reading every week or else you will be overwhelmed the day before an exam is due (although exams 4 & 5 were untimed & could be done without having read any of the material). Oddly, she grades the paper more leniently than she does the short-answer questions on the weekly assignments.

The online class is the best way to go. She is a very good teacher. I would recomend her to anyone. She does get back to you the next day on e-mails and if you ask her anything she will get right back to you. I loved her class take it.
