Professor Chai was amazing! You can tell that she really wants you to succeed and learn something. There is a lot of course work and it requires a good amount of time but her expectations are clear and there are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. As long as youre disciplined to keep up and to hand in your work on time, its an easy A!

Comment:

Professor Chai's class is not hard but requires a lot of work. The work is not hard it just takes a lot of discipline and time management. There's plenty of opportunity for extra credit. Definitely would take again.

Comment:

Prof Chai is awesome and so caring!! At the beginning of the semster you creat a group make sure you chose your people wisely cause they can make or break you in this class. Quiz and test are taken as a group. If one does well in your group you all do and vise versa. Practice your speeches! she's a tough grader with that :)

She gives a lot work for a online class. If you do well on all your quizes you wouldn't have to take the final. 1 paper for the semester. She's a tough grader on the discussions.

I took her online class and I enjoyed it. Yes there is a lot of homework, but it's very easy!! Just participate in group discussions and you'll be fine! Only 1 paper. She gives A LOT of extra credit. If you get 90% average on all your quizzes, you'll be exempt from the final. I def recommend taking her online class. Easy A if you do all the work.

She is FANTASTIC! Such a sweet person all around. This class is extremely easy to pass if you show up and do what she asks. Very easy grader, I took her hybrid class all tests were online then in class we would basically take the same exact test with our group. Very fair she is clear on what you need to do in order to be successful in her class.

I did ok in her online class, but that's only because I had a lot of time to spare. I'm not sure how people working full time would get through it. Lots of work, reading and homework. I was surprised a 101 class would be so intense. Avoid her unless you need the credits.

Professor Chai is very clear on how you can be successful in her class. She make it interesting. She does not lecture. If you participate and your quiz average is above 90 she doesn't make you take a final. Overall all a phenomenal teacher. If I wasn't going into the medical field I would consider taking every class she teaches.

Professor Chai is one of the best professors, if not the best professor at nassau community college! I was in her Com101 class and it was taught in a very unique manor, in which she split us up into groups. It was amazing I got to work with amazing people throughout the semester. Do your informal experiments, complete tests/hw and do your paper!

She acted like she was the most zen person on the planet, but was incredibly passive aggressive and condescending. Basically a hybrid class, and she's very obnoxious about how assignments are handed in. Every time I handed in something for a grade she had an issue with it no matter how many times I revised it. I do not recommend taking her class.

At first I was very worried about this class being a lot of work load and it can be, but as long as you stay on top of your work and work as a group to finish the work together, it's an easy A. It gives you a chance to make become great friends with your group and she does her best to help you when she can. I would love to take this class again.

This was my second time taking Prof. Chai and yes, you must work for your grade. The work isn't always easy, but she's fair as long as you put in the work. That said, the final paper is a huge part of your grade, so start on it early. She'll help you with it.

Comment:

Professor Chai is nice, but can also be passive aggressive and condescending. Get ready for lots of work. She is easily accessible by e-mail, and requires you to meet with her, which can be helpful at times. She cares about her students, but her lectures can come off as egotistical. You pretty much teach yourself here, with the help of your group.

You really have to put in the work to earn a good grade. She is very clear about what she wants and gives homework very frequently. if you get over a 90 on all quizzes you are exempt from the final. You have multiple times to take each quiz so there is always room for improvement. She gives a lot of work, but it's really easy. Easy A !!

This was my first online class and Prof Chai made it very easy for me to do well. We had weekly discussions and online quizzes. If you got above a 90 on your quiz average you were exempt from the final. Only one paper for the semester. Very fair grader and ended up with an A. Easy online class for this credit.. def take her!

I had already signed up for Professor Chai's class when I read the comments - and people are right, she does assign a good amount of work. But it's not HARD work. It's interesting, the discussions can be really fun, and the quizzes she gives usually weekly are simple. If you do the reading and keep up to date, you'll pass no problem.
