Comment:

Everything he does is slow motion. Uses paper for everything because he can't figure out how to use our online learning portal. This caused many of us to miss or do the wrong assignments. The content was made more difficult than it already was and his grading is unforgiving. This class was a huge stressor.

Professor Johnson is obviously an experienced mathmetician but this man is not the best at explaining things. Good luck if you need more time before a test because it took my entire class ganging up on him to finally convince him to move a test to the next week.

Don't waste your time paying for & taking this class at UAB. The format is a pitiful excuse for "education" (plan on self teaching yourself all of it) Do yourself a huge favor & take Stats at another college.

Dr. Johnson will not teach you how to use the statistical program to do your hw. I asked him how to use it to find the answer to a problem and he basically said to play around with it until I figured it out. Not helpful at all, considering I spent most of class trying to figure it out. Tests are hard, all the questions are from the reading.

I'm not going to lie, I would not take him if I didn't have to. He is pretty boring, and you may find yourself sleeping in his class. If you have him, be ready to teach yourself.

If math is not you best subject, don't take him. Everything is self taught on MyMathLab. All tests, homework, and everything else is on there. He does practice problems in the textbook during lecture and that's it. He is very sweet and does want the best for students, however, he is too old to know how to teach in a way students understand

MA 107 is easy, but the professor is very boring. He works problems out on the board and has no interaction with the class. If you ask him a question, he may get defensive.

Walter faces the board while he lectures& writes in cursive. Everything is on MML. You have reading quizzes on there from the book& "math problem" homework& quizzes as well. **EVERY EXAM IS FROM THE READING** there wasnt a single stats problem on any exams. They were just like the reading quizzes. Learn the math bc quizzes/hw are a lot of points

Class is teach yourself how or you won't pass kind of thing. Awful way of teaching. Works out problems in book that we already have answers to and could do on our own, and typically gets them wrong. The class itself is more online than anything, WAY too much homework, around 50-75 q's per week. Very sarcastic and semi-rude man.

Professor Johnson was my worst professor. He worked out problems that are in our workbook for the extent of the class, which we could've done on our own, as the answers are in the back. Most of the time, he got them wrong. He was not helpful, understanding, or informative. Everything is done online, and he usually didn't know what was on the exam.

Funny old man. Lectures are boring. He does explain how to do problems in the book but you might fall asleep while he speaks. A lot of online homework. Practice the math outside of class, use math lab plus to better understand things. A or B is attainable if you put some effort in.

He is a very nice guy don't get me wrong, but his teaching style does not accomodate for everyone and he doesn't get through all the material that'll be tested. He probably gets through about a half to two-thirds the material and the rest you're on your own. Stay as far away as you can! Hope this helps!

Bad, Bad teacher. Just don't take him. He can barley walk and he is monotone and gets all the problems wrong because he cant see them. He does not teach, he shows examples.

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. He is very monotone and gets almost all the problems during his lecture wrong. You will have to teach yourself the material because he doesn't help your questions. He's nice but a terrible teacher.

UGH! Where do i begin.. Very boring, very mean man and the hardest class iv taken. He has no problem yelling at you in front of the class, in every class someone had gotten yelled at for something stupid. Pointless to study for tests because he expects you to be statistical geniuses. Advice: take this class online if possible!!!!!

Seemed like a sweet man at the beginning of the semester, but as time went on, he was not helpful when you came to him with questions and often said mean things. Lectures are borderline pointless due to the fact he just copies down problems on the board (incorrectly, might I add), but attendance is taking during every class. Would not recommend.

Seems very optimistic at first and tells students he is always there to answer questions. Unfortunately all he does is work problems out on the board, most of which he copies down incorrectly. This means a portion of class time is spent on him writing down problems incorrectly or just getting them wrong. Very little learning actually occurs.
