I took her Romantic poetry course. Given the size of the class, it was practically impossible to have a real discussion. I don't think I really learned anything about poetry from taking this course that I couldn't have learned from reading the work on my own. Too much emphasis on biographical information.

She is a very critical teacher and is very opinionated. She gives no structure in the class nor her assignments. She also likes for you to participate alot. If your not a English Major Good Luck in passing her class.

Prof. Fairey is awful. Her class was a complete joke. Not only did she entertain comments from left field, but she didn't have anything useful to contribute herself. She let some people give "presentations" that were just rehashes of wikipedia. AWFUL.

Not a good professor, seems tired of teaching. mostly told the same story about her personal life over and over again. i basically taught a handful of our classes for her and she still wouldn't give me an A+...she actually didn't think that there was a difference between an A and an A+, which shows her ignorance of the grading system. no thanks!

I guess I could understand why some of you say she is a sweet woman but she's also really hard! Always wanted 2 response essays for each class, and there's a lot of reading ...ALOT! Also, she does call on people randomly. If you take her just be prepared for a lot work, which will sometimes be a little overwhelming.

First of all the theme of the class was the American Dream and it was meant to help you decide whether there is such a thing. Well as much as I wrote about my belief in the American Dream, I was always corrected by her. TOO MUCH READING. A HARD EARNED B+ DO NOT TAKE HER. She is not a bad professor, but I do not recommend her for english 2. she teaches it as if it were english 1234. she doesnt grade on right or wrong, its based on what you "could" have done. she will not hesitate to embarras people either, so shes not the worst, but very far from the best.

She knows her stuff... Victorian Lit wasn't so horrible... I just wonder why she chose to focus on 3 authors of that period rather than a larger variety. Anyhow, be prepaerd to write like 3 papers and to take pop quizes, she loves to read and to talk and probe for responses to be prepaerd and drink coffee because it can be a snore-fest sometimes.

very very hard grader, you have to be really exeptional to get near an A. i felt that class dicussions were pretty much a game to get the answer she wanted, since of course there is only ever one right one in english lit. im not fast to reccomend, shes nice but narrowmined

Very lovely woman and great teacher but a bit of a tough grader on papers. A lot of work in the course (two papers, a midterm, a final, and weekly response papers) and a lot of reading but some pretty interesting discussions. I'd take her again.

The lady is ok but definitely not the best for this course. Out of a whole century of books to choose from, her selection is incredibly narrow as she only like females heroines. id recommend a better teacher

i definitly recommend taking this professor. she was very lenient and gave students the opportunity to write on what interests them instead of focusing on a topic of her choice. for an older lady, i found her very hot and sexy. fun and serious.

Lenient, laid back, & very nice. She makes everyone participate in class discussion, but she gives you a lot of freedom to explore your own ideas/methods/styles in writing papers. Excellent choice for a professor.
