Great teacher. Loved his class and the way he taught it. Very knowledgeable. Very straightforward grading system, 2 tests, 1 paper and a final. An "A" in the class is achievable. He really makes class fun. That is why I am taking his 110B class next semester. I highly recommend him.

I'm far from an overachiever, and i got an A on every test in this guy's class, and even 100% on one. DO THE STUDY GUIDE. I never did a day of reading for his class until i was filling out the guide. It was the most helpful thing ever. But make sure you go to class and take notes, because it helps you a lot on his tests.

Young and Fun professor who can accomodate several learning styles. He begins the class with great music on surround stereo, and then brings excellent visual presentation into his well thought out, lectures. He speaks with great inflection, clearity, and never monotone. He understands how it is to be a student in a commuter school. Excellent!

Awesome teacher. I hate history, but Xan made it fun and interesting. His lectures are well planned and thoughtful. Class discussions happen almost every class. Try to get him as a teacher for any history class!

Great guy! Class structure is fairly simple as mentioned above. If you come to class, take notes and read the very few select pieces that he specifies in class, then there's no reason not to ace the class. Lectures are mostly very interesting, and I love how he ties in humanitarian causes like modern day slavery and such into the class lectures.

His class isn't too hard, You have 2 mid terms, a final and one paper the whole semester. He posts all his notes on black board, so you don't even need to go to class. However, it is helpful if you go. He also posts study guides for each test. All in all, it was a pretty cool class.

good prof. this guy goes the entire hour and 45 min, but doesnt seem like that long. Pay attention and do his reviews cause they really help. Super helpful on the paper. He will look at a draft and tell you where it needs work. Take this guy!

Very helpful and plays music at the beginning of class and likes to socialize with students before class begins. A great teacher for non-history majors, like me.
