Zelda is my favorite science teacher ever. I really enjoyed learning from her (she gives fantastic feedback and explains chem very well) and also liked the style of the class (team work with some lectures). Go to her office hours; she will always be happy to help you. But get ready to work hard, because I studied hours every day to get this A.

Zelda is an intelligent, quirky, brilliant person. Her class is HARD. There's no getting around it. Much of her class is working in a workbook with your table mates. If that style does not work for you, this is not your professor. She can be curt. Don't take it personally. Continue to ask for help. She WILL help you.

Zelda is extremely knowledgeable, but she's awful at teaching. If you like teaching yourself out of a book (with no way to actually check if you are learning correctly) then you'll be fine. Zelda has horrid people skills too, she probably doesn't even realize how rude she can be. She often tests on material that you haven't taught yourself yet.

I've never reviewed professor but Zelda is so bad I thought I should. My gpa is 3.5 so I'm not just a bad student. She's by far the worst teacher I've ever had, and I've had some awful ones but Zelda is in another league entirely. You teach yourself out of a workbook for the entire class. She does no actual teaching. Miserable experience.

Zelda is great! One of the best professors I've had! She does a great job in preparing you for future chemistry classes. The tests, 3 exams and a final, are similar to daily quizzes, which come with extra credit opportunities. Best chemistry instructor at COCC.

She gives plenty of worksheets and has a quiz everyday with extra credit points. The problem is she doesn't really teach anything. It's mostly just working through the books and worksheets either in a group or by yourself. Easy class though.

she knows what she is doing but has not a clue how to convey that to students. read other negative reviews on here. i agree with most. her "lectures" are you filling in worksheets. no matter how you go about for help she is useless. with all that being said she is a very nice lady though. just a poor instructor.

She does her quizzes BEFORE she does the lecture about them. This is something that I cannot comprehend. Her Exam's are quite difficult for an opening Chem Class and I always felt like she was 'distant.' She is quite funny though and when she DID lecture I learned quite a bit.. but thats for about 12 mins a class..

I say attendance isn't mandatory because she teaches you nothing. Literally. Unless you come up after class(and even then she will give an annoyed expression) and ask her personally, she will want you to learn EVERYTHING from the text book or your peers. You won't feel like you learned much from this course and her tests are irrationally difficult

Worst teacher ever! Yes, she encourages students to learn on their own and sometimes that makes you understand it better, but not for everyone. Why are you paying for the class when it's all self taught. She never lectures, you do group exercises, never given the answers to check your work, and she doesn't help when you've worn out your resources.

Zelda is nice and funny, but not the most effective teacher. She doesn't explain things in ways that are helpful to somebody who isn't a master chemist. I stopped going to class, as it was a waste of time. Her grading is very fair and she does try to help you, but I had a hard time learning from her.
