Statics is very hard until you get the hang of it. Taylor lays everything out quite clearly and is fair. Tests are also fair. But his teaching style and voice are increadibly monotone and boring so it can be very difficult to pay attention at times and you will want to fall asleep.

The answers to every test are buried in the lecture. For every lecture you miss you will fail a section of the test. Thermo is a vary hard class regardless of who the professor is . Taylor is the best professor at ODU to take thermo with. Get ready to study for hours every day.

Most of the tests offered extra credit so it was possible to get over 100 on each test. Test problems where similar to easy homework examples. Tests are open book but they are long so if you don't know the material you will not do well. Weekly quizzes which are pretty tough.

Quizess were a waste of time since none of the material will be on the test. The only thing that really matters are the test since they are worth 60% of your grade so can't mess up on even one or you gotta drop the class

Good professor, teaches clearly and works to explain material to students.Can tell he cares about the students. Tests are relatively straight forward, but you MUST STUDY and PRACTICE. Do not assume that an open notes test will be easier, they are very difficult and the only way to be ready for them is to understand the material before the test.

His tests are open book and open notes. Took it in the summer and he is pretty understanding to the student's POV. He reuses the hw problems over and over again. Really nice guy and will even help you with other engn subjects.

Dr. Taylor genuinely cares that you understand the material and he knows how to make it accessible. He understands the plight of engineering students and builds his lecture around that. Curve yes, tests easy Class average 53 prior to curve.

Got to be my favorite class thus far. Taylor's 1 of those teachers that fully explains each example. Copy everything, highlight the equations, and you will have everything needed for the tests. HWs are freebies, no quizzes, Tests are do-able if you listen in class. I easily got an A during the summer, and it was my first time taking the class.
