Piorko seriously is the best!! He is extremely helpful when you go talk to him in his office, he will sit down with you and explain a concepts over and over in different ways until you understand! His lectures are a little confusing but it's organic chem, it's not supposed to be easy! lol. Just bring your book to class and you'll be fine. :)

He's a really nice guy, but I find his lectures hard to follow sometimes, and his slides are just so unorganized. Doing the book questions he suggests are really helpful for quizzes though.

Comment:
The deal with this guy is: you have to study pretty much eighty percent of the course outside the class, and do a lot of practice by yourselves. When he come to class, he just like want to finish the task rather than help the students learn and do better. Highly Not recommend.

This professor is very slow when it comes to the lecture, and he also doesn't do any calculations with the class. We are quizzed every week and he marks very difficultly.

Very friendly, easy going. Changed quiz and exam dates based on student input. Very difficult to understand during class and tends to ramble off into tangents.

One of the nicest profs I've ever met! He's very student-oriented and writes good notes on the board. His midterm/quizzes were fair and based on his class notes, not so much the text. He knew me by name because he made us go to his office to correct our quizzes face-to-face, which is something that makes him stand out to me. I'm gonna miss him!

A. Piorko is quite possibly THE BEST chemistry prof. in all of Saint Mary's!!! I've had him for 3 courses already, and am planning a fourth one with him next semester, and I even teach one of his labs.... he definitely sets the bar for the rest of the department.

He is a good guy, but i dont like his style of teaching. you dont learn hardly anything, you read a chapter, and do a power point on it. thats every single class. he expects you to already know a lot of stuff too, like equations etc.
