Avoid Dr. Fitzsimons if you can. Really BORING!!! He confuses you more than the book and came unprepared for this course. He tells a lot of stories to boast his own achievements rather than teaching. Horrible class!!!

I took Dr. Fitzsimons based upon previous and was flatly disappointed. His lectures were not well-organized. The class was boring without clear heading. I would not recommend him for anyone interested in Audit.

Avoid Dr. Fitzsimons for your audit class. He is completely useless. Lectures are not organized, his teaching style mediocre. Future CPAs avoid him as Audit in part of the CPA exam. Boring classes.

Do not take this professor if you want to understand AUDIT for the CPA test. His lectures are ill-organized. He gives plenty of useless assignments far from preparing you for the Audit part of the CPA. He has temper and cares less about students. Dr. Fitzsimons should not be your choice. Audit is so vital but you would not learn anything from him.

Dr. Fitzsimons tried really hard to explain audit, but his approach is more confusing. He confuses students by not given most specifics. The lectures were boring and he seemed less interested in receiving students feedback. Do not take him if you are planning the CPA. Not helpful at all.

DONT LISTEN TO PRIOR REVIEWS. GOES THROUGH THE MATERIAL VERY QUICKLY WITH POOR EXPLANATION, GIVES HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS THAT TAKE DAYS TO FINISH, IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS TESTS, AND 60-70 PAGE PRACTICE SETS WITH 0 HELP. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

He is a very good professor. Study hard for the tests and you will do fine. They are out of 140 points. The audit project took 20-25 hours and wasn't too bad. Also gave a 10 point extra credit paper. If you put the effort in and do the work you will get a good grade.

I took this professor because of all the positive reviews here. Big mistake! The way he teaches is too broad so you NEVER know what is important or what to study for the test. So basically you never learn a thing about audit, besides a very few of the basics. Avoid this teacher. Maybe Prof. Silliman will one day teach this course...

An exceptional professor who brings real world experience into his lectures. He is very intelligent and knowledgeable about the subject matter and he definitely prepares you for the CPA examination. His exams are not the easiest but as long as you study, you should get a decent grade. 3 exams and a 50hr Audit Practice Case. Highly Recommended!!!

Still one of the Top Accounting Professor at SJU. Had him for Intermediate and Cost Acc. and was not disappointed. He is very knowledgeable and you can learn a lot from him if you put in the effort to try. His exams are hard but is graded out of 140. He prepares you for the CPA exam. Very Highly Recommended!!! A MUST TAKE for Accounting Majors!!!

An Excellent Professor who brings alot of practical knowledge into the field. He knows the material very well and he explains it to students very well. However his exams were not easy. You will need to read the textbook, and do the assignments. Do not CRAM or you will do horribly! But besides that, still one of the best there is. Highly recommeded!

Tough class but Fitzsimons is one of the best. 3 LONG tests that require a lot of studying, do not cram. They are graded out of 140 though. Also an auditing case that can be handed in after the semester. He teaches at a very fast pace but explains the basics of each chapter very well with examples. I would take again.
