Comment:
Kavil is the funniest professor you'll take. He doesn't teach any marketing, he just tells stories. His accent is thick, so it only makes it funnier. One group project, an essay midterm and an essay final. Easy A

Hard to understand if you sit in the back and cant make out his accent. I learned nothing about Marketing, did not even crack the book. only final, group presentation, and a marketing plan on yourself. Be sure to raise your hand so he knows you by name. Distributes samples of the take home final and the paper, which you can pretty much copy

Took him for Marketing 3301. Show up to class, do the 2 projects (essentially very short and easy) and do a decent job on the midterm and final and you should get an A... Very easy grader. If he knows your face and you laugh at his jokes, he will be in your favor. You NEED the textbook to pass the tests.

Dr. Kavil cares for his students and wants them to be successful. He'll work with you if you show interest in the subject. I'd recommend visiting him during his office hours. He likes to see that interest and he'll help you for it. He tells a lot of stories that I don't quite understand but they're subject related. But please buy the textbook!

Comment:
Dr. Kavil is a brilliant professor. Students act extremely ignorant if they are not taught in a conventional way, but all his stories are extremely applicable to marketing. St. John's graduates need to step out of their comfort zone and be able to independently guide themselves; moreover, they need to stop acting like uneducated juveniles.

Group presentation and a paper. Many people did badly on his midterm; I got a 68. In the end I got an A. His final was 5 short answers. He gives you 10 beforehand. All the questions/answers are straight from the text(end of chapter section). Nice guy, not a great professor, but I wouldn't worry if you do badly on the midterm.

What an idiot. Horrible professor, so into him self, don't believe me? Google him and find his website which is dedicated to himself. Claims to have received awards and published books. What a joke. He is everything that's wrong with Tobin !! You will learn nothing ! Don't waste time or money dedicating yourself in his class.

Take this class if you want a free class.. You will not learn anything except his stories about how much he travels and how he dislikes the administration at st. johns. You dont have to show up once, just have someone sign in your name. Easy class, joke with him and he'll love you. Warning: extremely boring, 20 page country paper (cake). 0 learning

Look, I think he's a nice guy and he definitely knows his stuff. The problem is, he doesn't know how to teach it. So, if you don't mind teaching yourself go for it. He gives a group case study, term paper, and presentation. Also a midterm and final.

Avoid this guy if you are a marketing major. If you like International Economics instead of International Marketing, than go for it. Tables are from 1991, tapes from 1996 and two projects that, no matter how good they are, you will never get an A for. Waste of time and money. Last: if you can understand what he says, I offer you a beer.

Hard teacher, can not teach for the life of him, just reads off photocopies of the book, takes the tests given by the book company and overall doesn't make sense. Tough class with 1 essay and a group project. Go for another professor unless you have a strong background.

The most horrible marketing professor at st. johns. I dont know why is he even teaching! You dont learn a thing in his class and when he does teach, it has nothing to do with what he asks on the tests. His grading makes no sense either. Please do ureself a favor and avoid this professor, ESPECIALLY if ure a marketing major.

A truly terrible professor. You won't learn a thing about marketing (which will come back to haunt you). Blabs on about random stories that don't pertain to the subjet matter. I'm gald I'm not a marketing major... and if you are RUN.

Very nice man. Kind of disorganized and not really a good lecturer. If you are looking to learn I wouldn't recomend him. If you want a class you can cut alot and still get an A go for him. All you need to do is read the book the day before a test.
