Took an 8 week class with Dr. Caballes. She knows the subject well, but not a fair professor. She provides EC for participation and uses heavy equation. Econ is not an easy subject. Two exams and lots of homework, but does not collect the hw. She does not care for her students and by 1 point will not honor the EC that was earn.

Worst professor I've ever taken in ELAC. Very unorganized and stubborn. I took her for summer, a 5 week course and she literally went over 4 chapters the day before our final, and we were tested on those chapters. I definitely don't recommend her to anyone.

She is messy on her explanations and lectures, but if you pay attention, go to the tutor you will realize she knows what she's talking about. She gives many examples, so it depends on the student to take notes. Its true her exams are tuff but she will help you a lot if you just ask her.

Please don't take her for economic, becuase you would not learn anything from her, and a lot of confusing, however, she is a mean professor and doesn't make students understood form her lecture.

I don't know how other people are saying she is a good professor. She may seem like a good person, but that doesn't mean she is a good professor. As a 4.0 student, I have never come across a class where the teacher was so bad that even self studying the book did not cut it. Some of the concepts she tries to teach are not even recognized by google.

I took her for winter session. The worst experience ever. :( Never on topic and the tests were nothing like the lectures. We barely looked at the book and everything was super unorganized. She grades at a curve but still expect a C which will ruin your GPA! If I had other choices I would have taken someone else but i had to take it that semester :(

She is a nice lady, but DO NOT take her if want to learn anything. She goes off subject and into detail about stuff not pertaining to the actual topic she is supposed to be teaching. She had to rush in the end cause she was behind and used the last 5 minutes of class to review for the final the next day! yes I am not kidding 5 freaking minutes!

It's a difficult subject on its own, she's not bad it's just hard. I had to seek for tutoring at the learning center. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TUTORING. She shows the work, has the class participate by giving examples and stuff, and she answers questions along the way. She's cute: says "ashoom" for assume. She concentrates on the math which is easy.

You want anything higher than a B in this class, it's highly recommended you seek out the economics tutor to anticipate what kinds of questions will be on the test. She ends up going off topic during lectures. It was to the point where we missed the lecture for monetary policy. BE VERY CAREFUL AND PRECISE with your work on the tests.

Comment:
Shes confusing in the lectures. Spends much time on unnecessary details, such as what brand to choose for listing examples. Moreover, before the finals, she squeezed 75% questions in the last 2 days of lecture. Lastly, you always need to say Quantity demand instead of demand. SHE WILL GET YOU FOR IT! Lost at-lease 10 points on the midterm for it

DO NOT TAKE HER. She is highly disorganized and jumps around the book. She lacks the ability to stay focused on one topic at a time. Do not know how she acquired her teaching credentials. Tests based on lectures no one understands. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Coming from 1 of 2 students who barely received an A on her tests.

She doesnt really explain clearly the concepts and ideas of the class. She talks about a lot of stuff that is not related to the questions on the tests and the book. Pay attention on the calculation problems she does in class because that is a big portion of the test. Careful on cheating too because she is very harsh and strict about cheating.

I have been at ELAC for 2 years and I have never had a professor as unorganized, unclear, or confusing as Prof. Caballes. Everything was rushed. Most of the lecture was spent wasting time trying to define things like "corn on the cob" to the foreign students. Tests are extremely disorganized. Sometimes she gets lost in her own words. AVOID!
