Took this instructor during summer for World Lit honestly, she was very unorganized a lot of work for a short term. 4 journals, 2 essays 5-7 pages each, midterm, research paper 8-10 pages with annotated bibliography, for the final we made a Zine (magazine) present it and write a five paragraph paper. 4 books were used. Assigned a lot of reading

SHE IS THE REALIST ALIVE! Carlos use to be an anarchist/pacifist. She is interesting as hell and she's extremely nice. She assigned books on mental illness and abolitionism and they really changed my frame of thinking. Extremely poetic and artistic and wants students to be comfortable in their learning environments. She came from a CC as well.

I took Professor Carlos for English28 during spring, she's grades easy, essay topics are super easy as well. Just read your books and you will be good for your quizzes, essays and journals. Super kind and gives you many chances to turn in your work. Kinda unorganized, but is very inspirational and very sweet professor and easy.

Professor Carlos was the best professor. I enjoyed every class session, and learned so much in her class. I would definitely recommend her as a English professor! She is great at teaching, and cares a lot of her students and shares passion for her job! I was very fortunate to have her as a professor.

Ms. carlos well she's tough and a little organized but very helpful she takes time to help students and brings good topics about life to your essays but overall a great teacher to take and gives extra credit they will help you towards that A+

I think it is really uncomfortable for me to take her class because she talks too many sensitive topics that are not related to how to write essays. I do not mind she has her own idea about politics, but please do not bring to the class. We are here for learning how to write in English instead of being brain washed.

Professor Carlos is great instructor who is willing to help any student out. She explains her essay prompts extremely well. She will teach her students to structure an essay and how to do an thesis statement. Take her you won't regret it.

She is such a greatest professor ever. Love her sweet voice. She teaches very clearly and explains very well. Because of her I know MLA format and I know how to write a good essay. She wants us to go to Writing Center to check our essay and which is part of our grade. She also gives extra credit. Strongly recommend to take her.

Class work is usually based on participation, you must get with a group and discuss passages in the books, then discuss as a class. Lots of reading and in class essays. However the material is interesting and involves current issues. Accepts 3 extra credit assignments. MUST go to Writing Center for full credit. Would love to take for 103.

I already took Professor Carlos for English 28, 101, also 102 and so far she has been amazing. She will her teach students how to structure an essay. In addition, she explains the work extremely well. It was an honor to take her for three classes. Take her if you want to learn about English and history.

Comment:

Though I don't feel that the laid-back attitude of this class is permissible in a college course, Prof. Carlos is an exception to the rule. The class was engaging (especially in a small group setting) and helpful in analyzing the class material. Assignments are plenty, but she gives you plenty of time to get the creative juices flowing.
