If you didn't take Spanish in high school I wouldn't recommend taking her. I passed her 101 class only because I was familiar with Spanish. I took her again for 102 and the class was pretty tough. The test are really hard and her English isn't very clear. You definitely will need to purchase the book because we read out of it every class.

Warning!!! Not a bad person and actually very sweet, like your grand mother, but very bad teaching skills. I did not learn anything to help me for Spanish 102. be prepared to read straight from your book the whole semester. She does not speak clearly and is confusing at times. Tests very hard. You are pretty much on your own.

She is the best. Happy to answer any questions. Very accommodating when I had to miss class and let me take the test early. Class participation is key. Very clear on what to know for evals. Write it down and memorize- and you're golden. This is an easy class as long as you study what she tells you. I highly recommend and will take again for 102.

She's a very sweet woman, but a terrible instructor. Time in class was spent either reading directly from the book, or taking quizzes. She doesn't really "teach" anything. The online part of the class is terrible and she relies on that to do the teaching for her. I have kept a 4.0 for 4 semesters, and I ended up with a B in her class. DON'T DO IT!

I really liked Mrs. Lowery! She was very sweet :) gives you 8 open vocab quizzes as her 'present to the class' and has 4 speaking eval on the computer but goes over it with you before! If you do the webSAM I you will Learn it.The test is kind of difficult but I got an a and 2 B's on them all and she's willing to answer any question! Recommend :)

Professor Lowery is en incredibly sweet woman, however in terms of teaching, she's not the best. She literally read straight from the textbook, line per line. The class itself bore me to death. I had taken 5 years of spanish in high school prior and still left with a B. She has a heavy accent and DO THE ONLINE WORK. Won't survive if you don't.

Ok where do i begin. well she is one of the nicest ladies i have ever met in college. Real geniune in her efforts. However, you will not learn a thing if you have never taken spanish. Pretty much sets you up for failure if you need SPA 102. With that said, she pretty much gives you 65% of the grade. Test are brutal and not open book. i got a B.

she forgets this is a 101 class. she relied fully on the tutorials which were very difficult and didnt give many examples. out of 30 stud half dropped and only 9 by end of the sem..3 made Ds and 2 Fs

Overall nice and helpful instructor. Relies heavily on txtbook and online activities. You must be a self-starter to succeed in this class. A lot of out-of-classroom studying is required to be successful. But it's like taking Spanish from her grandmother - she is SO sweet!

She was so boring. She read out of the book, had us read out of the book, and relied completely on the online video tutorials to teach us. The tests were very hard, and she never explained anything very well. If you can stand wasting 4 hours a week for 16 weeks listening to her read straight from the book, go for it. Otherwise, find another class.
