It's a really difficult course, DONT IGNORE THE REACTIONS. But it is really interesting and well taught, lots of resources to do well. The exam and second midterm are hard but very fair lengths with no surprises. Labs felt very stressful because you need to know what you are doing and be very independent but once you get used to them they are ok.

One of the worst profs Ive come across. Makes things seem way harder than they are. Ruthless grader, its as if shes just waiting to dock points for the most minor errors. Somewhat condescending. Did horribly in the course because her teaching confuses me for the most part. Id rather have Gaia teach the lectures cause she explains so much better

She just writes down what's in her head and she doesn't specify what unit you're working on, plus she wastes time talking about stuff that's not relevant. Furthermore, nothing is posted on bright space from lectures, no lecture slides, no lecture recording, no practice homework, nothing.

In lectures, I didn't find her to be the most effective teacher, but that may just be me. Her eresorganic videos were FANTASTIC (saved me on the final). The midterms are quite tough and hard to prep for, but she's a fair marker and she really seems to care about and love the subject, which is, I think, the most important quality in a prof.

She's a mediocre professor at best. She once marked me wrong because my k wasn't small enough for a chemical equation. She's a horrible marker, but the labs are fun.

she is a great prof who seems to genuinely care about the students and enjoys teaching. she explains concepts really well. the past papers and practice problems are an excellent tool for exams. constantly work on this class to where everything becomes an internalized skill and you should be fine ;)

Great professor, explains things really well. Go to her classes, pay attention and you will do well. If you miss class, or you just need to review, watch her Eresorganic videos, they really help. Do the practice problems and attend the weekly help sessions offered. Both of those prepare you for the type of questions you will get on the exams.

In all honesty, she's a great professor. I literally criticized her since day one and even hated her because I didn't do that well on the first midterm. BUT, she is such a fair person. Really. And she honestly wants you to do well. Just study and go to class! Listen to what shes actually saying! In the end, I really do miss her and her lectures.

An amazing lecturer for an overwhelmingly challenging course. She has high expectations for her students and provides all (+ more) resources for students to do well. Very accessible outside of lectures. Makes an effort to meet students, create relationships with them and always will follow up to ensure students are on the right track.

Her online video tutorials were good, but other than that she was a mediocre prof. She didn't really seem to want to help during office hours and often looked like she had something else that she would rather be doing. Midterms were tough but the final was okay, and labs/CAPA assignments were tedious but a mark booster if you put the effort in.

Dr. Thompson is the best prof I've had yet. She is very dedicated to the students and puts a ton of time into making eResorganic videos, supplementary notes etc. She doesn't post anything online so GO. TO. CLASS!! And be prepared for self-study. Don't waste the supp notes & eResorganic; they'll save you.

Really wants you to do well, and, as long as you attend lectures regularly, you will do well. Feedback received on tests was great. Office hours are OK, but they could've been over the lunch hour instead of right after class. Other things: buy the supplementary notes, and if you don't understand something, go to concept room hours ASAP.

Tests are easy if you study. Go to class if not you're screwed. Online videos helped a lot. She's a great prof and she wants people to do well. Be ready to study hard for midterm and final. Alot of practice problems and answers on bblearn and supplementary notes. Do them !!

A professor who is truly confusing. Brings up material not studied in class and puts it on tests. No organizational skills in presenting.

AMAZING prof. I loved her so much. My friends all loved her as well. She made all the information available. If you needed to figure something out, it would either be in the notes, on eresorganic, or in the textbook. There was lots of practice available for reactions. Amazing class. I know I wanna go into organic synthesis now.

Loved Alison! Her use of analogies is was very helpful. I found the class was best learned from the textbook and study guide, as lectures were just meant to be an overview. Her Eresorganic videos were SO helpful, and must have taken a very long time to make. Would take 2404 from her if she taught it.

Uses examples and analogies (which I found helpful). Bad rumours about her, but everyone I knew in the class liked her. Extra notes (22$) are worth it for practice.

Did examples without first introducing the concepts, which made everything confusing. A tad bit condescending towards students. Tests were fair though. The study guide was helpful, but should have been made available online -- for free.
