The class is probs an easy B ore more if you do your studying and etc. But the way things are graded is by the printed hw she hands out based on what you learn that week, but as long as you do it you get credits. And also there is group quizzes, and that helps with preparing for exams, but also boost your grade. Exam easy if you used group quiz.

Great professor, very understanding and kind. You get a page of notes for the exams and there are group quizzes throughout the quarter. Overall, great class and learned a lot from her. Curves grades at the end

Easy A for cultural anthro. You can use a page of notes front and back on tests, little to no homework and when you do have hw, its very simple and straight forward. she mostly grades on completion. Not completely boring bc its interesting and she engages the class. had one group project that we did last minute and got a 98 on. Solid choice easy A

Knows her stuff. Class based on lecture, videos, and group work/projects. Documentaries watched were interesting, lectures were boring at times, and group work/projects ,depending on your group members, was bearable. Chill, soft spoken professor. Exam/quizzes were straightforward based on reading and her lecture.

Don't read the book, just know everything on the study guide and write notes when she explains things. If she repeats the same things over and over, it's going to be on the test. 4% extra credit. Group tests before solo tests help a lot, no cumulative final. She is also very open to feedback, she's humble and generous.

I took Anth 1, Anth 2 and the Anth 1Lab with Tiwana. The classes were informative, and inspiring. She genuinely supports student success and is passionate about the discipline.

This lab was surprisingly difficult. I had Patel as my actual Anthropology instructor and her class was much easier and taught completely different content. This lab focused mainly on cell division and human anatomy. Felt more like a biology class at times than an anthropology lab. I managed to ace it because of all the extra credit she offered.

All I can say is "meh". What's funny is that this lab is harder than my actual physical anthropology course. Pretty ridiculous for a 1 unit lab. You have to memorize a lot of bones and the material is pretty boring. She doesn't really teach, she has you teach yourself with your group and is just in the room. The lab is mostly table group work.

Very nice professor. Come to class and take good notes from her powerpoints as tests are all open note. Quizzes are done in groups of 5 so make sure you have a good group. Theres a fieldwork group (of 3) project that takes the entire quarter which seems overwhelming at first, but its not too bad. Chill class, quite interesting, would retake!

Group discussions + quizzes (choose wisely because you're stuck with them the whole quarter) + 3 open note exams (no final exam). Offers tons of extra credit so start early and take advantage of it! Dr. Tiwana is knowledgable, easily approachable and truly cares about her students success. Easy A if you participate and put in the effort.

Quizes and discussions in groups and open note exams! Textbook wasn't necessary for me, but might help. Great, caring teacher that is passionate about anthropology. She was great. I would definitely take her class again and am planning to!

One of the worst professors I've ever had at De Anza! Refuses to admit when she is wrong and likes to shame people.

DO NOT take if you have classes directly after, you will be late. She CONSISTENTLY keeps lecturing after class time has ended which is RUDE. Lectures are boring, and group activities just carry the people who don't do the reading.

Group work made this class easy and bearable. Simple reading assignment and a few questions assigned for every week. Tests are a bit difficult even with a study guide and note card but bearable if you do all the reading. Definitely should do the reading. laid-back atmosphere, work with people you like, Prf Tiwana is there to help if you need her!

It can be difficult initially to adjust to her lectures, as she does speak quietly and has a difficult accent. Although, she truly cares about her class and if you want an A, you will earn it. Simple grading criteria, treat it like a freshman elective.

She gives long lectures, so students tend to space out. The group you meet with in the beginning of the quarter is most likely going to be your group for the rest of it. I could be biased, but she tends to let things slide with the students that sit in the front of the class, and picks on the students in the back. She also likes to call people out.
