She is so funny I enjoyed her class so much. I did well on tests what hurt my grade was the homework assignments. The mastering chemistry was by far the worst part of the class. Have to study for test or you won't do well. attendance is a grade. She's very sarcastic but so funny interacts a lot with the class.

This is a flipped classroom. Lectures consist of answering questions in your assigned group and also working on worksheets. If you read your textbook, watch lecture videos and complete your homework outside of class you will have no problem with this class. I recommend making friends with your group members and studying with them. Great professor.

This class you'll either love or hate-no in between. If you are diligent and bright you'll appreciate at the end this type of flipped learning/no lectures and method of group work. If you are just a lazy student expecting to get a good grade with little effort, it will bite you hard. Just depends what type of student you are

Please dont take her, I had to drop her class becaue it was a flipped class meaning you have to teach yourself at home or in th libaray. Her help wasnt jealous either, the quizzes are useless, her notes online are dumb cant understand anything. The group base learning was hard never understood anything in this class.

THIS IS A FLIPPED CLASS ROOM! Meaning she doesnt lecture at all in class. EVERYTHING is online. condescendin. You will do study guides based on the chapter youre going over and then have a quiz the second you get to class. THEN she gives feedback. Which isnt helpful bc your grade has been taken. Would never take again. Hardest C Ive ever made.

Professor El-Ashmawy does TEAM Based Learning in class, and her lectures are through videos on which she uploads for you to see OUTSIDE of class. In short, if your teammates aren't prepared/not the brightest then you're not gonna get a A. All you do in class are the TEAM based activities, and your grade depends on it. HW is online. Never again.

El-Ashmawy is a wonderful professor. The course requires a lot of work on the front end (flipped class) and it can depend a lot on good teammates, but she knows her stuff, is a clear grader, funny, and helps students if they try. Do NOT expect to breeze through this class unless chemistry is second-nature to you. Still, I enjoyed it a lot.

Dr. Ashmawy is passionate about what she does, and it shows. This by far was one of the hardest courses I've taken. As others have mentioned her course is a "flipped course." Essentially there is a lot of self learning. By the end of the semester our class was left with about ten students.

She gets hella mad if you use your notes on team activities or even think about using your notes. Make sure to know everything before you walk into class because apparently you have to have everything memorized before walking in or the world ends

She knows a lot about chemistry and emphasizes the importance of not just knowing how to work a problem but the concept behind it. She is hard and you must work hard for a good grade, but is pretty lenient with grading. People who complain about her simply don't take advantage of all the resources out there and are lazy

Whatever you do, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. Especially if chemistry is not your strong suit. She runs a flipped class room, so you have to read all of the chapters, watch her videos, and fill out study guides every week, every week you're tested on the assigned chapters. The tests HARDLY follow the textbook chapters, so you better know it word 4 word.

BE WARNED! This is self teaching chemistry. This is a condescending professor with a negative attitude at times. Chemistry is a very cool subject but you would be better off taking this online. That being said she makes its easy to pass if you can keep up with the strict hw and quiz deadlines. Definitely a weed out class. Choose another professor!

My first time taking chemistry and easily the hardest class I've taken in college so far. I didn't know her class was a flip-class (self teaching) when I registered. Its so much harder than I thought it was. Hard to understand course material when yourself is the teacher & have questions on material. Would not take again.

The class is flip-taught, which means you are teaching yourself, and she's mostly there to answer questions. The class is split into teams, and you are graded on very minor things, such as how much you communicated with your team outside of class. There are many quizzes, and you may have as little as two days to learn everything you need to know.
