amazing professor, easily one of the best of my academic career. Had him for lecture and lab. Lecture, tests are open note (including open powerpoint, if printed). Lab, he drops the lowest one and all lab reports are done as a group, so not nearly as much work. You will not regret taking him

Professor Broyles is an amazing professor!! His tests are simple and consist of 20-25 questions. He does require attendance but he assigns plenty of extra credit assignments which is awesome. Homework is online through Mastering Physics and you can buy the online book and homework for $55 - $60.

Professor Broyles was an awesome instructor and made Physics fun with his real-life applications of physics in everyday things. I transferred from another professor in Physics to Professor Broyles early in the semester and it was the best decision ever! Attendance isn't really mandatory but the examples in class tend to show up on the test. Easy A+

Professor Broyles is super sweet and always has a smile on his face. Will help you any chance he can. Easy A if you put in the work. I got a 97% as final average in Phys 1402. Didn't use textbook much, gives handouts and reviews before the test. Best physics professor!

Comment:
Very easy professor all in all. He gives extra credit and there are lots of tests so that helps too. His tests are also super super easy, simple multiple choice in class that's open note and then take home harder problems that are open book. He does however treat everyone like children and his lectures are incredibly boring but it's worth it.

The lectures were him flipping through the PowerPoint, and doing examples on the board. The examples were the important thing to copy down, and the exam reviews were pretty good. Easy grader on exams. The lab part was more difficult because sometimes it was hard to find the answers to the pre and post labs in the manual or textbook or even online.

I took Broyles for General Physics Lab. He is a good teacher, but extremely soft spoken. With that, he is sometimes hard to hear. I would recommend taking him for the lab.

- Open-note tests, but those require good preparation (cannot just print out the slideshows and get an A) - Plenty of opportunities to boost grade - Homework is through MasteringPhysics, but has a low weight and is not 100% mandatory - Simplifies labs and allows for redoing of botched ones (even outside of regular hours) - Weekly group lab reports

Mr. Broyles is fun, loves teaching, and is willing to walk step-by-step with any student that wishes to have a better grasp at the subject. I took him for 1401 and 1402- one of the best decisions I have made since entering college. He is always energetic when teaching and gives it his all. And also, 10/10 hotness :)

Prof. Broyles is a great professor and offers excellent lectures. Be aware that this class is hard as that there are a lot of expectations: full lab reports typed up professionally, several tests lowest one dropped with optional final, online math section, online homework that takes 4 hours a week. You'll put 10 hours in his 1402 class a week!

Such a nice guy, BUT you don't learn ANYTHING from him!!! He speaks so softly and just reads off an online textbook that doesn't explain anything. He just starts writing random math on the board and expects you to know what he's talking about. I wouldn't recommend him if you need to learn the material and need to take Physics 2.

A really good teacher! His tests are open note and they can be quite difficult, but they are doable. He gives lots of extra credit, which is the main reason I got an A. Take him, he really cares about the students and is not there to make things hard. I took him over Summer and it was great!

Professor Broyles gives 5 exams, last final is accumulative but optional as it replaces your lowest test score. All exams are open note and half of it (calculation parts) are take home. Can't get much easier than that! Homework is heavy and only worth 5% and he tries to encourporate very easy participation participation projects. My favorite prof!

Loved Him! Easy A in the class, 6 exams, lowest gets dropped, NOT comprehensive. Exams are part multiple choice, part free response take home. Very gently and always there for you. Took him for lecture and lab and made high As on both. Definitely Recommended.

Broyles gives 6 tests and drops the lowest test grade, the tests are half multiple choice(in class), and half math and applying equations (take home). He gives extra credit. All the homework is on mastering physics which you need to purchase access to at the beginning of the semester. He will help you with the homework if you email him for help.
