Definitely one of my favorite classes, the way he lectured really worked for me. He's a really nice prof who takes time to learn your names. He posts old quizzes to help you study and the TAs are super helpful. Make sure you take the old quizzes, the quiz grades help buffer for the final and midterm.

Completely awful avoid at all cost. Doesn't lecture well, learned everything from TA and other students. The only reason I did well was that he does use old test questions but if I didn't know those I would be screwed. Honestly the worst professor I've had.

He will make this class seem easy by allowing a note card on the midterm and final. However, there is no way to squeeze all of the information you need on there. He tries to teach a lot of research methods that are just downright confusing. He does learn students names, which is kind considering it is a 200 person class

Although this class had the potential to be pretty difficult, the way he sets up his grading system makes it really manageable. He does clicker questions for EC, as well as frequent quizzes that help you stay on top of the material. For midterm and final study the old quizzes because a lot of the questions are very similar if not identical.

Frequent quizzes make this class more manageable. Uses questions from old quizzes, so be sure to study those. Midterm and Final are much more difficult, but doing well on quizzes throughout the semester will buffer your grade from damage after Midterm and Final. Go to class because he often gives hints about quizzes and is really good with names.

I expected to learn key concepts in development and critical thinking in interpreting the literature in devel. genetics. This was not accomplished. Lectures are unorganized, little content is covered, students teach each other. Two mid-semester evals were given: one before my 1st presentation and one after my last, rendering the evals useless.

Very helpful professor. Although attendance isn't necessary, because he uses tegrity, go to class! and discussion place to get easy quiz points. Quizzes aren't too bad if you study and study his old quizzes, his mid term and final is exponentially harder. He wants to be there for you in every way! The book is used quite often for missed details

Nice guy, tries to remember people's names. Quizes in Discussion and Lecture are super easy so take advantage of those... The Midterm and Final however..... Are much much harder than quizes. Study hard for about a week before both, or else your grade will suffer. Focus on studying from old tests that he provides on BB.

He is very tough. He goes through his slides very quickly and puts very vague questions on the test. He will attempt to prepare you for research and nothing else, so LEARN ALL THE TECHNIQUES TO FINDING THINGS IN THE CELL.

Major "weed out" class. You are completly in the dark about your grade throughout the semester and you don't know your grade until 1 min before grades are due at semester. Difficult to meet with and means to intimidate you so you will leave him alone. By far the worst bio prof I have ever had. Quizzes are unlike midterm or final.

He teaches the class with a focus towards medicine and research. If you are interested in either than the class is very practical. His test are applied knowledge (several experiment-related questions). However, it was hard to stay awake and he wasn't too helpful outside of class. Liked him better as a professor than as a person

Boring, Monotoned, and uninteresting. Rambled on and on about unimportant facts and was ambiguous about what was expected to be known.

Chandrasekhar is one of the best teachers at Mizzou. He explains everything clearly and logically. Go to every class and take thorough notes. The quizes are super easy, but the tests are somewhat hard, but an A is definitely manageable with legitimate effort and sound reasoning on his tests.

A really sweet guy, but a very boring lecturer. I went to every class, but dozed off every time. Quizzes are difficult and require in-depth and specific answers. Go to RSD. The TA's are wonderful and a great help. It's possible to just go to RSD. Study well and utilize old quizzes and exams!

I am a biology major and this class was more difficult than I expected. The quizzes don't sound intimidating, but they are. They test for an in depth understanding and application of the material. Simply reading the text & knowing some superficial knowledge will not get you far. Utilize the practice exams that are posted and go over the notes.

Not many points available, so must do well on tests to receive good grade. Tests you over applying your knowledge of the material to new situations, not just memorization of the material. Read the book, look at powerpoints, go to help sessions and you can get an A without going to lecture. But should go to RSD and study for those quizzes.

An extremely happy & nice person. But his exams stink, they don't test you on what you know, they test you on how fast you can write. The questions are rediculous. Sometimes he is hard to understand, but he can make the class laugh every now and then. The final took us 2.5 hrs and still didn't finish....be prepared!

Dr. Chandrasekhar is completely terrible. You learn nothing from his classes whatsoever, so don't bother going. Everything you need to know is in his suggested readings, which he expects you to do anyway. He offers very little, if any, notes at all, so I just read all the chapters and outlined the paragraphs, and that did wonders.
