Comment:

The worst professor I have ever had at TRU. Asked him a question once and all he said to me was "thats a good question" and didn't answer it. Doesn't respond to emails when asking for help and its a class where tests are worth your entire mark but you're doing assignments every week. Strongly advise you to take this class with another prof.

Comment:

He's super nice. Excel and access learning is recommended. MIS is something he's not good at explaining stuff. He does helps a lot during the exams indirectly, Just "whisper". Gonna take his Web-Enabled Business course. Let's see how it goes. over all he's a nice guy and if you want to learn, he's someone you should choose instead others.

If you can take this with another prof I HIGHLY recommend it. He is a great guy and super nice, willing to help. The fact that you spend so much time on weekly assignments and they are worth nothing really to your final mark is not fair, they should be worth more. I feel like he could be a lot clearer in explaining his lectures.

If you like gaining knowledge other than just textbook, you'll get it in this class. The questions in exams are to know what have you undestood and not how well you remember the textbook. Always ready to help too.

Andrew is an awful teacher. Theres an assignment and a quiz every week, the slideshow he gives doesn't help with the quiz. The assignments are similar to what you do in class but while Andrew is trying to teach the class, he is teaching himself at the same time. He doesn't know what he is teaching half the time and is confused himself.

He spends too much time on unnecessary stuff and doesn't quite have time to cover the chapters. Theoretical MIS lectures are boring but his excel and access lectures are really helpful. His exams are decent. You must devote much time to studying and attend the classes (at least the excel and access) to pass and get an okay grade.

Worst professor I've ever taken a class with. The course is really interesting but he made it feel like the most boring. Knowledge gained from classes is an absolute zero. A complete waste of tuition and time. Such professors should be taught how to teach.

Andrew is a great prof who is really good with Excel and Access. There is a participation mark after every class so you must attend. The MIS topics can be a bit tricky as he does not touch on them as much as Excel and Access. Tests can be tricky.

Comment:

Although there is participation marks each class, Andrew is a caring teacher and understands when you cant be in class for various reasons. I found the excel and access classes to be helpful and he explained the content well. But when it comes to MIS topics he only touches base and expects students to study the rest on their own. Very hard tests.

Andrew is rude. He hasn't helped anybody in class, instead chooses to get angry with them for asking too many questions, asking questions at the wrong time, or for not knowing the material. Don't ask this guy for help it's a waste of time, especially during exams. Take a different prof if you have the option

Andrew is a nice teacher who tries to make a boring subject interesting. There are regular assignments and an attendance quiz each class, so you must show up. If you are good at Excel, the course is easy. The theory side is really boring and I don't think there is much of a way to make it interesting. I didn't study that part much and did well.

Andrew is a great guy and tries to make the subject entertaining. I did not like the on-line version of the text and therefore didn't ready any of it. I still managed to get an A. However, I'm very comfortable with Word and Excel and much of the theory info is intuitive. the assignments online were great with immediate feedback.

Andrew really likes the subject he teach, but it does not mean that it will make the course interesting. You will need to do assignments every week, attendance is a mandatory. Classes are really boring and complicated (for students who do not have a lot of experience with information systems).

The course in general was difficult but his thick accent didn't make it any easier. The online homework really does help and I recommend splurging on the textbook if you want to pass the course.

He makes the class so much more complicated then it has to be. So confusing how he does things. Give way too many connect assignments, pretty much have to attend class to do well. gives mark for participation. If you have the chance take it with another teacher

Comment:

Lectures on the textbook material is dull, but you will be tested on almost everything he lectures on. I found that having the Teachers Assistants for the labs was frustrating because they did not do a very good job explaining things for the assignments. Material is pretty tough, and there is a steep learning curve. Overall good prof, tough course.

Quite easy, challenging but fair assignments.Does take attendance. No midterm but final is worth quite a bit, but it's all multiple choice.Overall good teacher, would recommend for other classes.
