He assigns long readings and class is all discussion based. He might be better for a different class.

Dr. Perry is a great professor. He truly loves teaching about the Earth and it's environmental systems. Be ready to study for exams, if you don't you will fail. The assigned readings only make up about 10-15 questions on the exams.

Dr. Perry is very passionate about geography. He is enthusiastic with every lecture and brings a positive atmosphere to the class. However, the lectures themselves can be confusing with what to take notes on. Plus, the exams can be ridiculously hard, so be sure to study. Overall I think Dr. Perry is a good professor.

This is a man who lives, breathes, and sleeps geography. He's incredibly skilled/knowledgeable in his field, so you have to participate and put forth a good amount of effort to do well. Always offers help outside of class if needed and so friendly. Total neighborhood-dad-vibes but I honestly don't think there's a better guy to teach this course.

I've taken several of his upper-level classes and he does not teach much in class. He assigns long, dry readings for every class and it is up to you to learn the concepts. The assignments, that require substantial research, would be easier to digest with more in-class reinforcement.

Dr. Perry taught this intro level climate change class as if we already knew the foundations of weather. The class consists of 5 tests (one the day before reading day and then a final) that are multiple choice, but the questions will blindside you. His lectures seem very off topic and tangent-like but there will be questions on the test from them

IF YOU ARE NOT A SCIENCE MAJOR DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!! His class was so boring and the tests were super hard. Lab was easy and he takes an attendance great but if you aren't a science person just stick to bio.

Personally, a nice guy but as a professor he is terrible. This course was gen ed level but treated you like you were supposed to already know everything. The tests were extremely specific (cumulative final), and he required a lot of busy work. I worked really hard to bring up low test grades and in the end he did not round my 89.8 up to an A-.

Dr. Perry is one tough professor. At a few points I wanted to drop the class but afterwards I definitely felt like I learned more than I have in any other class. He expects a lot, because he knows you can do it. He expects a lot to make you a better student. Hands down the most influential professor I had. He does some awesome research, too!

The tests are so hard.. They're honestly really difficult even if you study and he does not curve them.. (Had 1 A on a test and it was a 91.. No curve) He does offer extra credit but they are really long assignments. Class is interesting enough he just makes it a little too difficult seeing as most people are there for GEN EDS.

Dr. Perry is an average professor. If you do the study guides and pay attention in class you should be fine on the exams. He is always willing to help a student, just go and ask him for help. He gives a lot of extra credit (usually for up to 5 bonus points on an exam), and the assignments for the extra credit aren't hard at all.

This class was the hardest class I have ever taken. I am not much of a science person. I am making A's in all of my other classes but this class I have a D in. The professor doesn't explain things very well and his four tests are extremely hard.

This class was awful. Professor is a nice guy but can't teach very well. He teaches this general education class like it's a graduate level course. He just talks and anything that he says or you read could be on the test. You have to study for his test because they are very tough. Final exam is cumulative.

I really liked this class. He was super nice and helpful, however, this class is not easy. His power points are somewhat helpful but you really need to do the reading that he assigns. THAT'S whats on the exams. Start the map project the day that it is assigned. Do the extra credit. DO the exam worksheets. YOU will thank me later.

I would most definitely take this class again. Prof Perry was very passionate in his teaching and has been to a lot of places. He even sang to us one time! He is great! sometimes I wondered where some of the test questions came from (around 70 multiple choice). There was also a pretty big map project we had to do but it was helpful in the long run.

These courses were for a study abroad trip to Peru's Andes Mountains. I have never gone through such a hard yet amazing experience in my life. With Baker Perry leading the trip, my perspective changed tremendously on how human impacts are geographically changing the world. The classes materials were difficult but if you work hard, it will pay off.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Dr. Perry is a nice guy but he has no idea how to teach. I dont doubt his intelligence, and maybe someone who is on the same brainwaves as him could succeed. But his slides are not on the test, the book is lengthy and confusing, and he is not willing to help when you go to office hours. Don't ignore this warning like I did.

This is literally the worst class that I have ever taken. Dr. Perry is a nice guy, but he doesn't teach anything. Most of the information on the test is from the book, and some is never covered in class or the book. He just shows pictures of his travels in class and then expects you to know everything about geography already. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
