Professor McMorran is really good. He gives no-nonsense thorough lectures that are easy to follow.

Comment:

Dr. McMorran seems to get a pretty bad rap for giving his lectures based on his notes, but I found both the notes and lectures to be comprehensive and easy to understand. Course is very WebAssign heavy, but they definitely help you to prepare for the exams. Great teacher and great course as long as you're willing to put in the effort.

Comment:

He just reads word for word of his lecture notes during class. Lots of homework(all on WebAssign) that are very difficult towards the end of the course. He is very boring and each time I hear his lectures I fell like his casting a sleeping spell on me. Prepare to read the whole book yourself.

Currently taking him over the summer because I transferred from NY and my Calc credit didn't transfer even though I got a B. I decided to take him because I had no info going into it. Would not for the life of me ever do it again. Homework is ridiculous and won't even be covered in the notes. He reads not teaches and doesn't answer your questions.

I saw more of his back than I saw his face. He literally wrote WORD FOR WORD long problems that could be easily condensed. He rewrites WORD FOR WORD everything already posted online. Only got A's on tests because his test review is almost identical to his tests. He never answers a question. And he'll speak at the rate of a sloth.

He's literally the most straightforward individual ever. He just reads word for word off his lecture notes during class, so he's not really prepared for questions. So don't expect those to be answered properly. Attendance is mandatory. And while he's a clear speaking, and easy to understand lecturer, his lectures aren't exactly exciting.

This guy is rude. His lectures are from his notes he already posted online. He just copies them to the board but attendance is mandatory. Took off points on a test because I rounded the answer... Told him I did a question one way and asked how to do it, he said well youre wrong... He gets frustrated when you ask questions in class.

Mcmorran ensures that you actually learn the material. He clearly rubs people the wrong way because of this, but if you plan on taking calc 2, then he's a really solid choice for Calc 1. He doesn't hand out free As, but will still curve if the class average is too low.

Taking trig over the summer was one of the worst decisions ever! Soooo hard! But he was kind and helpful throughout the course. Homework is very heavy, but if you do it all you'll be prepared for the tests. He gave partial credit for every little part you got right, you could get an answer wrong and still get most of the points for that question.
