If you like to have an old school teacher probably you have to take his class. He is pretty strict and I think he has the obsessive compulsive disorder. The worst professor I've ever had. His class is easy but boring. Avoid his class!

I took his ESL 246. He is highly experienced and can vividly describe how you should position your tongue, teeth and mouth to pronounce each sound accurately. Before taking this class, I didn't know some of my pronunciation were wrong, you could only find out after you learn the right way. This is intro, he also teaches advanced, really systematic!

He is extremely organized, everything has a clear structured, homework - tests - assignments. You lean a lot from him. it is in your hand to get an A. office hours are at good times, answers fast on email and takes time to review individualy

YOU will def learn because he will make you. He is VERY organized. He will ask you to do a lot of homework and on the next day he will ask everybody on it. He is not easy that is why I liked him since I tend to get lazy when prof are not strict.

One of the best teachers! His classes are very interesting and fun, but you need to prepare well for every class. Some students who don't study much or prepare for class will of course say he is difficult, but that's not really true. You can learn a lot in his class. Great and helpful teacher.

I took ESL 136 on winter 09 from his class and with grade B, the class is helpful and thankful. this class is only good for who really wants to learn ESL but not for any lazy student. He is a bomb and always give us a lot homework to do, but never complain it if you really want to improve your English, then take it. Come on and try it ! BOMB !

Easy B, a bit of consistent effort needed to get an A. but overall he's good. His class is funny how all the Asians have certain pronunciation problems and he'll be able to pick on your problem and make you practice pronouncing it in the class=D. Viet: aim (not am) Chinese: something (not somesing)=D he'll help u improve such problems. TAKE HIM!!!
