Comment:

She's awesome. Of course, Calc III is a really difficult course. Don't take a high-level math course if you're not ready to work. Contrary to some of her reviews, though, she's a fair tester and weights the class in an appropriate manner. For such a difficult class, she was as clear as I could've possibly hoped. Don't take her if you're lazy.

Comment:

I took this professor for Calc I and now Stats, and she explains concepts so well. The tests were very manageable and doing and understanding the excel work is everything. This class really prepared me for others because knowing how to use Excel is a great skill. I highly recommend this course with this professor.

Comment:

Lectures were powerpoints and she went through them by reading and sometimes writing an example on the board. Lots of homework. My stat lab is horrifying but manageable. Make sure you try your best on the homework assignments and it will really help with passing the class. The tests are hard but study and ask questions, you'll be fine.

Great calc professor. She is very knowledgable. The tests are challenging, but the homework added up to more points than the tests combined. She also gave good reviews before tests

I struggled a bit she is really good. If you need help she will help you stop by her office. Her test are easy do your practice test and you will be fine. Don't think you can show up and do nothing and get an A you will work for it!

Do not take this teacher if you want to fail. I'm good at math but when I came to her class she made me feel stupid. You are better off teaching yourself because the way she explains it doesn't make any sense. If you want to save your GPA do not take her, take a online class before her.

I was a bit nervous taking statistics because I haven't taken a math class since 2012 in High School with her butt she a really good teacher and I PUT IN THE TIME TO STUDY AND NOW UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL. She's not a miracle worker you just have to come to class and put in the effort to pass. She's a very social teacher so asking questions is easy.

Comment:

Very cute and helpful. All her notes are online but it is important to attend class and take notes regardless. Tests are similar to the study guides/homework and she gives partial credit. Just do the homework and the study guides and you'll get at least a B. She makes calculus easy and stress-free. Don't be afraid to ask her questions!

This is my second class with Professor Matthews, and I love her. Her class is tough but what statistics course isn't terrible? She is the only math teacher throughout my life that made is clear for me. I loved her so much I even chosen for liberal arts. Also, she puts in grades right away which is a plus!

This is my second class with prof. Matthews. She's very clear, always answers questions and works hard to help students understand. She's also pretty funny. I only wish I like the subject more! But Matthews make it bearable! Take her if you aren't very good/interested in math but still willing to work. :)

You show up in class for your professor to explain everything before taking your quizzes and tests. Work on Connect Math is a bit easy. Able to understand probability clearly.

Doesn't care about her student's futures. She grades extremely tough as if the goal of the class is to prevent you from progressing. The tests are irrelevant to the homework. Yes, Calculus in and of itself is difficult, but that gives you even more reasons (as the professor) to not add to the difficulty. The point of class is learning.

Mediocre at best. Everything was online, and she only helped students with questions about the online work in class. No lectures whatsoever. Had some crazy 80% mastery rule, where if you got below and 80% you got an automatic 0% for the assignment, and were unable to take the quiz until you got an 80% or better

Don't believe any bad reviews. Prof. Matthews is excellent. Simply keep up with your homework and rework the homework problems before each test and you'll do very well. Calculus wasn't meant to be a walk in the park... It's Calculus. So quit complaining.

Extremely disappointed. Never available for office hours, too many problem-types, very difficult grader, difficult tests. This class was designed to make your life hard. It shouldn't be that way. A class should be challenging, but not consume your whole life for an F. Do yourself a favor, take my advice, and click "Drop Class". U'll thank me later.

HW is virtually EVERY problem in the book, yet the tests are so short! So U have barely ANY chance to show what u know. 1 mistake and ur done for. In terms of statistics, the SAMPLE is NOT representative of the population! Test shows NO indication of how much EFFORT and probs u did! Comment:

First off, I love math. I did good in math my entire life but this is the first class I ever failed. IMPOSSIBLE TESTS, NO Extra Credit except for once, where the problem was so impossible NO ONE got it right ,she even said. TESTS EVERY WEEK. She calls them "Quizzes" cause they're "10 quest",but they are HUGE. Makes you EVALUATE EVERY integral.

I took the e-blended course. The lectures and homework are online, tests are taken on campus. She allowed us to bring a page of notes which was helpful. I was amazed at how prompt she was in responding to my emails, and even more amazed at how well she answered my questions. I highly recommend her and this course to anyone who struggles with math!
