Dr. Gould makes it very clear what you need to get a good grade. Show up to class, participate in discussions & do the work. Im not very strong in science and I pulled an A in both classes by just following her rules. There were no real surprises on the exams.

Grade is based on two midterms, one final, a term paper, weekly quizzes, and attendance. She is very clear about what will be on the exam and what you will need to know. She is very funny and makes class very enjoyable.

Gould is a great professor. There are homework assignments, weekly quizzes, a paper, 2 exams, a final, and occasional pop quizzes now and then. Definitely need to study to do well on exams, but she will help you out with any problems you may have. Extra credit is typically offered. If you wait too long to study, expect to be up for awhile...

Gould's sense of humor makes the class fun. The format is straight forward, and Gould provides the notes prior to class, making it much easier to follow along. Gould provides a lot of information and expects you to know it. It is not an easy course, but she is definitely fair. Work hard and it pays off. Extra credit offered.

Prof. Gould is an EXTREMELY hard teacher. Her exams are EXTREMELY hard. You have to study nonstop for this class. There are about 10 lectures per exam and the material is very lengthy. This class consumed my entire semester. She also picks favorites. I would try to avoid this prof. but if you can't, make sure you study 3-4 hours per day.

I liked Gould. She'll give you the powerpoint she goes over in class. Just know everything (seriously) in the packets. Know life cycles and make note cards (she loves them). Homework is extra credit-do it! She gives a few extra credit points on the tests and curves them. PS- Know that her cat's name was Francis Rhizopuss. There is a 5-8pg paper.

Is unbelieveably intelligent but that comes across in her lectures. very detail oriented. well organized. tough course but well worth the effort. you won't look at plants the same after the course is over...just like she says.
