Comment:
Rosenthal is a great professor and I have taken several VRS classes with her. Unfortunately she can be a bit scattered in class and is incredibly liberal and heavily promotes feminist ideals. She is incredibly anti-media, but gives reasoning behind her views. Her papers are INCREDIBLY long. I would recommend, but know what you're getting into.

I love Dr. Rosenthal. She's extremely helpful if you ask, very clear about her views in class (she has a very strong liberal bias, heads up), and knows so much about the subjects she teaches. You read a TON in these classes, even the 100 level ones. And the papers are long. But if you put in the effort you'll make an A.

Rude, passive agressive and extremely disorganized. We did not receive a syllabus until the 6th week of class. Will openly argue with you if she disagrees with your viewpoints. Avoid at all possible costs.

I've taken Dr. Rosenthal for several courses and have had great experiences with all of them. Her classes can be completely eye-opening if you choose the engage yourself and participate in the readings. When it comes to grading, she allows you to explore your interests with the paper topics. She is a great professor.

Dr. Rosenthal is a little "spacey" but she is very knowledgable in her specialty. Very eager to help, just needs a little motivation to stay on task without a personal story for ALL examples. Ultimately, she's very helpful and works with you until you understand. I recommend...

Easy. Loves her field (communications and rhetorical studies). Always cancels class. Disorganized. Pushes dates back. Very nice. She has really good qualities but just as many that are bad. The main thing I really did not like is that she lets people who think they know more than others take over the class, though I don't think she realizes it.

Dr. Rosenthal is such an amazing professor and has so much passion for the courses. Must do the readings and make an effort to discuss the readings in class. Other than that, you're golden! I plan on taking another course with her.

She had the most boring lectures, no class notes, and she has favorites. There were no tests, but really lengthy papers you had to write instead. Some how my best friend always scored really high because he was a favorite and had many classes with her.

Wonderful proffessor. This intro to communication class openned my eyes to the communication process that happens around us each day. Subject matter can be tough but Dr. Rosenthal explains it so you can understand how it relates to you.

Spacey, unorganized, cancelled a lot of classes. Inconsistent grading. Came up with mindnumbing assignments like "How is Ted Turner the modern day Odysseus"? Avoid at all costs.

Rosenthal means very well, but works hard to make the communications department only good for getting into comm theory fields rather than paying jobs. Every class is an indictment of the mass media. The classes are pretty easy, but you'll have to work hard to learn anything practical except how to avoid being manipulated by TV.

Rosenthal is very energetic in class. She's great at drawing you in even when you didn't even know you were interested in the topic! I never considered myself a "feminist" but I think she knows what she's talking about.
