Comment:

I received an A in this class, but it was not an easy A. There is a lot of time consuming homework, with 6 lengthy and difficult projects throughout the quarter. She is a difficult grader, but you are allowed to revise all projects as many times as necessary. Although it is hard, Annalisa gives amazing feedback and I have truly grown as a writer.

Writing 2 was the most challenging course I had ever taken in college because I am not a native English speaker. She has a high writing standard and needs you revise works for several times. But she gave me many useful suggestions on how to improve my writing. Just push yourself hard and go to office hours and you will be fine.

WAAAAYYYYY too much writing. more than someone can do in a week with a full workload. It is actually ridiculous. Avoid this class at all costs. Take it with another teacher.

i thought i was a good writer before i took this class, but ms. rava pushed me hard to improve my writing to a greater degree. she is NOT an easy professor, but if you put in the work she is an amazing one. not recommended if you don't have a good grasp of english.

If you are an international student, do not take this class.. Assignments is too much, you have to reading a lot and writing headache reading response, or you will not pass this class.. She is a response teacher, however.. Very hard for me, anyway

Annalisa has been one of my favorite professors so far. Her expectations are very high and the workload is tough, but she gives her students the tools they need to succeed. Readings are interesting, and she goes over them in class. She allows multiple essay revisions with feedback which improved my writing immensely.

This was the hardest class I ever taken. You must be a really good writer to take this class. She has high expectation. I would only recommend this class to people who are good in writing; this is not an easy class.

This course was very interesting thanks to Annalisa Rava. Although it had a heavy work load, it is all worth it if you want to improve your critical writing skills. She was very helpful and gave constructive feedback on your writing. All she wants is for you to pass, so just do best your work and go to class like you're suppose to do in college.

Do not take her! I came into class excited about learning and writing on animals but she makes it so hard. I understand how college is suppose to challenge you but if you don't want to fail or gpa lowered I suggest you take a different class. The way she corrects your work is so harsh. I wish I came to this website before picking her :(

Anna-Lisa is one of those extremely rare professors at this campus that actually cares about the subject she teaches. You will not only learn a lot (everything from relevant to tangential to random stuff), but you will leave knowing that you got something out of that $5k tuition you paid that quarter. She's a hidden gem in a godforsaken campus.

Rava is a good writer and offers helpful comments. The research paper requires a lot of work, but she's down to help you brainstorm if you're stuck. She wants very specific things from your writing; if you're a talented writer with fresh ideas, you're golden.

A demanding teacher, yes. But she's actually quite fair and very helpful. She's what college is supposed to be...challenging and thought provoking. On top of that, she's super nice, and brings treats to class. I learned a lot from her.

Great teacher. The class is hard but you learn a lot. A lot of what she says regarding to writing really makes sense and you leave as a better writer (might take a toll on your GPA though).
