Comment:

Really rude and gets annoyed with questions/remarks by students. The material isn't all that difficult. Klein finds a way to make it so, however. Tests are generally on the harder side vs homeworks and practice problems, there are much better accounting professors out there.

Comment:

The Pros: Very knowledgeable, has clearly put time/effort into figuring out how to TEACH this stuff. Lectures are clear and effective, lecture notes are comprehensive and online HW (while somewhat annoying due to bad UI) are doable/helpful) The Cons: she is very very 'new york' and can come off as abrasive. don't be late, don't interrupt her.

Comment:

Not sure why she has a subpar rating. She's funny, approachable, and generally level-headed. Makes the course more interesting than you'd expect (accounting is still boring tho). Tests are tough but if you do the right practice problems you'll do fine. Most people end up in the B range. Chegg is a must for the hw - the online system sucks.

The class is fun. Professor Klein is very engaging and really wants you to learn. She always puts an effort to make the lectures and materials interesting (since financial accounting is NOT generally a fun subject). I really enjoyed her class. And if you study hard, you will do fine in the exams.

Comment:

One of the best teachers at Stern! Her lectures make sure you 100% grasp the hardest concepts and incorporates interesting real-world cases. If you do the online homework, take good notes, crunch the hard problems and practice often, it is a guaranteed A. She also invites you to take a look at her research papers.

A lot of people think Klein's class is tough, but you'll do fine if you study the textbook, attend her lectures, and take good notes. Tests are open-book and open-notes, and I found a lot of answers in the notes I took in class.

Take at your own risk. She assigns very few practice problems which are often not truly reflective of her tests which makes it very difficult to study. You can try asking her for help, but odds are she'll just end up getting annoyed after 5 minutes. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Professor Klein has her moments. She could be in a good mood or bad. She doesnt use a textbook for FSA but gives you powerpoint slides instead. I genuinely learned a lot and found some of the stuff she taught interesting but damn...Her test are extremely challenging and do not reflect really any of the stuff she gives you. Good Luck.

At first, I did not like Klein. She has a strange sense of humor and can be rude but is very laid back at the same time. She genuinely cares about getting students to learn the material, though I was a bit bored at times. Midterm was surprisingly difficult (exams are LONG), but the final was much better since I studied more. Not bad!

She is unfriendly, unhelpful, yells at people who ask her questions, is very temperamental, and is constantly PMSing. Yet she is clear, and you will understand her.
