I love Dr. Burak. He is such an intelligent and caring professor. I've had him for 3 semesters straight and would keep taking his classes if I could. This class was really helpful for reading in Russian and my vocabulary has definitely improved. Take him!

Dr. Burak is by far one of the best professors I've had at UF. I have had him for two semesters and he really loves to see his students succeed in the Russian language. Corrective phonetics really helped me improve my accent and learn a lot about Russian culture. Take him if you can. You won't regret it!

Very intelligent man. Great sense of humor. In his Russian language courses it's important to be self-motivated though as class time is often too short to give too much attention to each student. Tells you what's truly going on in Russia, not forcing an agenda or propaganda. Taught a truly balanced view of the Crimea/Ukraine conflict for example.

Dr. Burak is an interesting character. He's very knowledgable and fair. He opens up the class to participation, and you will be speaking constantly (this is a language course after all). He shows movies and homework is not always mandatory, but recommended. I think he could go a little faster, but if you like a slower pace you'll enjoy his style.

Don't buy the textbook! All you do is watch movies. There is a midterm and a final test and that is all he grades besides attendance. He posts the midterm questions online a week before and every person gets an A. The final is watching a russian movie on your own and writing a paper on it. Every student gets an A in this class. EASY!

Advanced grammar was an ok class. The concepts covered were useful, but the class was simply too easy.

This guy is amazing! I had no interest in doing a Russian minor, but now I'm actually considering it. He is a fantastic professor; one of the best I've had. I highly recommend him and this class. You won't regret taking him! Makes it easy to succeed if you put in effort. Don't be scared of taking this class, show improvement and you'll do well.

Prof. Burak is awesome! He is very clear about grammar's intricacies, and is funny! He takes the time to make sure you understand the topics. He rags on you if you are way off sometimes, but as long as you can shrug it off, it's a fun time with Dr. Burak. Definately taking another class with him!

Prof. Burak is amazing; he's really understanding (lenient) and has a great sense of humor. I wish he was my grandpa or uncle or something! (: This class was a breeze but also pretty interesting if you're into anything Russian. Kind of a lot of reading, but I definitely recommend this class. An easy Gen ed & you dont have to worry about your grade!

Amazing professor. One of my favories. So knowledgeable! And more importantly, he does a great job of conveying the information from his brain to yours. He's also interested in gleaning knowledge from his students. I remember one time when he was asking about the meaning of "ghetto blaster."

Very clear... RUT 2500 was very easy. reading and attendance a must (perfect attendance= BONUS!). Interesting, lenient grader. For Languages (1130-1131), very good, helpful. lenient grader for final grade (IF you have good attendance and he can see that you're trying). a little condescending and sarcastic sometimes. don't take it personally.

If you don't get an A in this class, you probably deserved a failing grade! You don't even have to read everything - just search for summaries of the readings online and go to class most of the time.

this guy is halarious, class is a joke, everyone gets an A if you at least read a little to put a few correct words on your paper. Loves to indiscretely make fun of Americans though, if you listen carefully he does at least once every class. Can sneak out during movies and I think one person each semester gets a B, the rest A's. EASY H and I credit
