It's bittersweet to know that Professor Schumaker won't be teaching anymore, but I am honored to have had her in her last semester. She cares so much about helping you understand the plant world around you and is up for any questions you throw her way. Fair grader and gave so many extra credit opportunities. San Jac won't be the same without her.

Great professor! Her lectures are informative and entertaining. There's a lot of material, but she drills you with cumulative mini-reviews each class session to help you remember it all.

I took Professor Schumacher for BIOL 2 and she was by far one of my favorite professors I've had at San Jac. Her lectures are good and lab is even better. She always explains things in ways you can understand and makes sure to repeat things so they stick in your head. Go to class, pay attention, take notes and STUDY and you'll make an A.

professor S is a great professor, very caring & supportive. the lecture exams are done able if you study but the labs are very hard. the lecture is multiple choice and matching approx 100 questions but the lab is basically a blank piece of paper that you fill out, as you go to each station/specimen. the labs were very hard and are in-depth detail!

First time I took her course I ended up with an F, second time I made an A. You will need to study. You will have to put in your part. Focus on her powerpoints and what she goes over in lab. She's always kind and gives great feedback to any question asked. Plenty of extra credit opportunities. Not an easy A, but not difficult by any means either.

This class is not easy. You have to work for it. She offer's a decent amount of extra credit that can make a difference in your grade. Yes you have to memorize all the info but you then apply it to the review. She has group projects and she will help you on them if you go to her. She's super sweet and will help you IF you ask for it. GO TO OPEN LAB

Get ready to have to memorize every single thing this professor tells you. Her tests are about 80 questions, her reviews are pointless, and she has extra readings from the textbook on the tests. She does not specify what you need to know for her tests, so you pretty much need to memorize her notes word for word. Have fun. I won't take her again.

Biology isn't the easiest class for me but she made it the subject easier to understand than most professors. Offers extra credit and two projects that definitely saved my grade. The tests are not too hard if you do her reviews and in order to do well on the lab tests you MUST be present for the labs and participate, especially for the dissections.

Great teacher! You need to print out the power points, take notes in lecture, and take REALLY good notes in lab. You should also take pics of stuff in lab to help you. The textbook is used for online quizzes and the lab manual is very helpful. Two group projects and offers extra credit. She is very funny and I would recommend her to anyone.

Her tests were easier than my first biology classes by maybe 25% which did not stop me from getting a B. There are a few online assignments and essays. The final group project was kind of a monster but I did really well on it. Loads of dissection in lab.

Lots of dissecting. Textbook is used for online quizzes. Lab practicals and exams require a lot of studying since its a lot of info. Big group project that is a lot of work and 2 essays to write. Lectures are online to print and its fill in the blank. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! Not that hard of a class, she's nice, and gives reviews that sort of help

She is AMAZING! She made bio so interesting! She provides you wpps and lab reviews for tests so take advantage. Personally I don't find that lab manual is important bc she provides you with a lab review with everything on it. Gives extra credit, tests are okay if you study. You will need txtbk for connect quizzes though. Awesome! Would take again!

She is awesome. Anatomy is not easy, but she makes it less painful. I wish she taught 2402. Print the power point notes out BEFORE class and don't miss unless you really have to. Study those notes and you will do fine. You absolutely need the lab manual and not necessarily the book. Up to you on the expensive book. She's great!

The BEST professor ever! You must print out the power point notes and have them ready before you arrive to lecture even for the first day of class. Also you need the lab book & it helps to take pictures from the microscope if you are a visual learner. Even the extra credit are helpful on exams!

Amazing teacher, took her for biology II and loved it. Study the powerpoints and you'll do fine, she also offers a lot of extra credit opp so take advantage of that. I failed every test (sad I know and I put that she is easy)and yet managed to pass the class with a B thanks to the extra credit.

Schumacher is a great professor for Botany. She can be a little bit difficult if you don't keep up but also offers lots of extra credit opportunities. She gives out test reviews and handouts and really wants her students to succeed. Lab exams are very easy if you participate in her reviews. But she does use trick questions in Lecture exams!

Absolutely wonderful professor. She is extremely generous and is always willing to help. I wish I could take her for future science courses. Do not need the text book, because the few pages you will need can be printed out in the library. Attend class and study your notes, and the class will be great for you. Amazing course, oustanding professor!

Wish I had her for all my previous science classes! Makes Botany so interesting. Great use of metaphors to comprehend the material. I did not buy the text. You are only required to read some incerpts. Make copies of the pages at the library. Lab manual is necessary. Good reviews. Study the info on the reviews and you'll do fine.
