She cancels classes too often without notice in advance. It's really annoying. You are pretty much learn it by yourself once you purchased the super expensive online material. But she answers all questions and emails.

Comment:

She is really nice! There is a ton of online homework, but it forces you to read the language and helps you to practice. I feel that she wastes a lot of time going over the homework in class even though you get the answers online, but the atmosphere of her class is laid back and fun. She is really helpful if you ask her for help. I'd recommend her!

This class is very frustrating if you have other classes to also study for. She assigns about 27 assignments towards the end of a chapter. The assignments are a pain and extremely time consuming. Especially when there are other classes to study for. This is a good class to take if you have nothing else on your plate.

Comment:

Bongiorno is SO sweet! She is very personable -- jokes around with the students a lot and is understanding if someone has trouble finding the right words for what he/she wants to say. The homework is super straightforward (all online), and she often relates what we're learning about to current events/our own lives. Def. planning on taking 222&223!

Comment:

She's so nice, makes you love the language, but if she's having a bad day, you'll know it. Tests are LONG, good luck finishing, but a fair grader. Lectures are tangential and did most of my learning from the text. Strict attendence policy, and DON'T fall behind on material. Not the best foreign language teacher, but it's hard not to love Bongiorno.

Taking her class is a complete waste of time and money. You have to spend twice as much time as for any other course, studying for this class and you won't get any help from her. Might as well buy the book yourself and study on your own, No Difference. I have gotten a good grade for this class, but I regret taking it,

Here's the deal: she's a great person, a great Italian prof, not so good in the 200 level SPA. She's expects you to have everything on time, but she never has anything done on time. She puts together tests last minute. And the online homework sucks. She really does care about her students, but you so a lot more work than you do learning.

Took the class online, received very little help. It seemed that she was sick most of the quarter and didn't grade our tests until the last few weeks of class. 121 last quarter with Fernandez had much better interaction with the prof.

Bad experience with her. I really wanted to learn spanish but the environment created by her was authoritarian and not conducive to learning a new language. Since then I've been to 4 spanish speaking countries and 2 other spanish language schools and Bongiorno was the worst teacher of them all. Go with Fernandez, she is incomparably better.

WORST CLASS EVER. I'm not kidding. She goes off on random tangents and you zone out she talks so much! ALL the homework is online and she gives A LOT. If make one little mistake, the whole thing is wrong!! She's very knowledgeable and really nice, but NOT a good teacher. DO. NOT. TAKE. HER. CLASS.

I took this class online and I enjoyed every second of my time. She is the sweetest professor in the whole wide world, I didn't have any problem with her class. She is really understanding and helpful. I love the class and the way she treats you as a student. I 100% recommend her class to everyone.

If you want to learn Spanish, take this class! It's taught all in Spanish, but it helps you learn. If you study hard for tests, you'll do fine. Don't fall behind in textbook readings and questions, bc she likes to give pop quizzes. Do the online homework the night b4 its discussed in class and youll have the answers for her questions. Good teacher!
