Comment:

I could never regret taking this class. Probably not the best option if you are reluctant to classical music, or if you're just looking for an easy A. It is true that you have to work for the grade, and maybe he's not the clearest teacher on earth, but he's passionate, inspirational, funny and kind. He's a teacher of life.

Comment:

Utterly incomprehensible most of the time. Course calendar went out the window on day 1. Never made expectations clear and gave different terminology different definitions on different days and on the test. Nice guy, concert reviews and concert attendance was a lot of fun, but NOT an easy A. Plenty of EC but harder class than I expected.

Nice guy, but a tough teacher. His assignments and expectations are not clear, so getting an "A" is difficult. His absentminded nature leads to situations where he asks if we completed things that he never assigned. A much more frustrating and difficult class than I bargained for when I signed up for "music appreciation".

By far the worst teacher I have ever had. Very unclear about instructions and always goes on random tangents in lessons. He is confusing and you really have to put in effort to get a good grade. Expect ALOT of memorizing and be prepared to work your listening memory skills. He is a nice but as a teacher but I would not recommend him or this class.

His class is one that you have to put in the effort to get the grade. It's well worth it too. He can be confusing at times, but if you get help from him or other class mates, you'll be fine. About half of the group failed out last quarter, but mostly that was an attendance problem. I loved it and got an A. show up and take notes. its fun

He can brighten the darkest of days and is very animated when he teaches. I would recommend digging into readings hard and fast, but he is retiring now, and this positive review will forever be here. He is awesome, and he winks when a certain thing will be on the test. PAY ATTENTION TO WINKS!

Mr. Wilson is a really fun teacher, loved his class! Make sure to go every day, and keep up with the readings and assignments. Great sense of humor and a really nice guy. Will be taking another class from him!

Ken is a good teacher in my view. He can be a bit impatient at times but as long as you are interested he is willing to be very helpful. He is prone to some light-hearted antics and streaks so be prepared if you don't enjoy mercurial learning environments. Otherwise, an easy class if you have a knack for memorization/rapid analyses.

Ken Wilson is a really nice guy and he likes to give chocolates! :D He helped students who doesn't understand the class and he is passionate about music. This class is one of the most fun class I've ever had in Bellevue College! You have to come to class everyday if you want to get good grades!

Ken is a really good guy, knows everything there is about music and is very excited to "teach" but he is very unclear and has a different way of teaching that resulted in confusion and frustration. DO NOT take this class for a easy A.This class is not a class you can take lightly. If you dont know anything about music, DONT take this class

This is a terrible class. He constantly says since it is a 5 credit class it's okay to be really hard! Does he forget it's a 100 level!? He is a terrible teacher and expects too much from his kids. Do not take unless you are already a music expert!

Bad. Just bad. Great guy, but terrible teacher. He is very knowledgeable, but has a hard time giving us the information we need and we are all hopelessly confuned. Im dropping the class next week. If you like to enjoy classes and actually do well, do not take this class.

took the music appreciation class online. If I took it in class there would be no way I could pass. I have some prior knowledge with music, felt the stuff was way to hard for 100 level music class. I was also upset about having to spend money to see concerts. I spent $70 on a concert to fit in with my schedule and his criteria and got a C. wtf

Comment:

Ken Wilson had a great sense of humor. Not an easy class by any means but he made the class fun. Being a bit new to music, i struggled a bit. But he always made himself available for students to clarify the material. Good guy, hard class but fun.

He's a really great guy. You can just feel his passion for music in the classroom. Its really important to come to class, read the book and listen to the music because his test can be tricky for those without prior music knowledge. He's a bit disorganized and came to class late a lot, so if this doesnt irritate you take the class, he's really good

He's a great guy. Really passionate about music and it shows in his teachings and when you listen to music in class. The downside, he's kind of disorganized and late to class a more than some of the students! altogether he's great and very understanding. you can go to him for anything and he's willing to help or hear you out.

Knows his stuff, but does NOT teach well. Very disorganized. Always late to class. Lectures-he will repeat some things over and over, but only mention other important things once. I did well because I had extensive music background, everyone else struggled. TONS of reading from the textbook will save you in this class.
