This professor talk only about her life and doesn't teach you anything. You learn more from the book. She also treats her students like children, if you leave early, come in late, or use your phone she will lecture you and question you as if you are in middle school. She grades everything very hard and it takes her a long time to grade. DO NOT TAKE

On top of that, she will give you four (2- paged essays), a 7 minute oral presentation and a 15 page final essay about theories she has selected for you and you have to select one that makes sense to you. The oral presentation and final essay are due around finals as if you didn't have any other class but hers. DO NOT TAKE HER.

For this class you must buy a course reader because she does her lectures off of that. You will have to read every night for her class and then it will be discussed in class the next session. She does most of the talking though. There's 2 essays based on the readings. A midterm based on themes that are discussed in class & a final (same as midterm)

She is an interesting professor who does know what she is talking about but if you do not agree with her you will have a difficult time. She is really into art and philosophy and if you don't like that stuff, you prob won't like her.

She is a great professor with a great sense of humor. Lectures are fun and interesting. 4 one page abstracts and 1 final. Abstracts are extremely easy they are based off of the reader. Highly recommend.

The professor may have a thick accent, but in order to understand her, you must read the text and pay attention to class. Anyone could earn a easy grade if you only do the essay assignments and turn them in on time on moodle. The subject is interesting and not that difficult.

I love her! She's very leniant in her grading. Very easy class to pass. You must read the book, or she gets upset. Attendence is semi-mandatory. If you miss a few classes you should still be fine.

I honestly didn't take this class seriously and I'm currently passing! :) You're going to need the textbook for four essays that she gives and for questions she posts thru a blog. She only lectures, so you gotta make sure you read the text! Her accent is pretty thick but you'll get used to it. She's very helpful but at times can be a little rude.

I took her for CAS 202 and CAS 310...everyone that says her accent is thick and she is a bad professor, isn't paying attention to the subject matter. She is a great and very intelligent professor. She does expect you to write at a college level but we are in college so it makes sense to me. Take her if you want to learn something.

Prof isn't very clear but will explain if asked. Took the Univ 60BB class afterwards which helped A LOT!!! Prof is funny, most people txt during class which is why theu probably don't understand her. If taken, SIT IN THE FRONT, she'll get to know you even if you don't volunteer. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Essays are hard at times.

Unless you have all week to dedicate to this class do not take it. She has a lot of work for you, this would be a course for someone interested in the subject, she does a very bad job of motivating other to get into the topic. She is very smart and educated. But thinks she is always right and you are wrong. NOT a good experience

not taking this teacher again. the lectures. has a sarcastic, monotone voice. even her "thank-you" sounds sarcastic. and her attendance. not very good. she comes in 5-15 minutes late on a daily basis. if she does not show, rarely ever email students beforehand. takes long time grading. essays are not grading until weeks and weeks. 350 word limit :(

Prof. Cortez is okay. She basically sits down and talks. Doesn't write anything on the board. It is a literature class so you'll be reading alot. The readings however are EXTREMELY interesting (if your a CAS minor or major). Do the readings. Write your 8 page papers on Poets or Writers of the time. Final is based on the readings. Discuss in class.

Beatriz is a very charismatic professor. at first she seems like she's tough, but she's really laid back. the class lecture isn't boring, she'll surprise you with quizzes to see if you read your stuff! the papers she assigns are super easy and theres alot of extra-credit because she just wants you to pass! very nice and considerate professor.

VERY unorganized nlazy. I got an A on all my papers but a B in the class cuz she made a mistake i had to go have her change it. KEEP ALL OF YOUR WORK, cuz it's VERY possible that she may give you an A on the paper but forget to record it. Oh and her lecture will numb your brain. You can tell she's not even interested in what she has to say.
