Prof Mohanty was a great professor. His class is fairly simple, just take good notes, ask questions, practice in your hw, and you will pass. Of course you get what you put in, if you study enough, an A isn't far fetched.

Wonderful professor, he is very funny and knowledgeable. The class is easy as long as you study. Personally, I think professor Mohanty made statistics easier. We had one midterm, one final, and two easy projects. No presentations for the projects, just finished them and turn in.

Comment:

Funny very helpful professor. He breaks down everything and is very clear in his lectures. I say definitely one of the best professors I've had so far. 1 midterm 1 final and 2 extra credit assignments. gives homework questions but doesn't collect them. He is very clear and wants you to succeed. I definitely recommend him.

This is the best professor I ever had in my 5 years in CALSTATELA. Even if you are not good in math, he is there for you to help you out. He really wants his students to pass. Take him!

I wish I've taken Professor Mohanty for my other ECON classes. He is one of the most helpful professors I have had to chance to take. If ECON isn't your strong suit, i highly recommend taking him. He definitely cares for his student and will try his best to get everyone to pass.

You don't need the book just for the homework, but he lets you take pics of his copy. FOLLOW his lectures and copy notes!!! Can't emphasize that enough, with an addition of reading the ppts. First half of the term is easy so ACE that midterm. Last half is more challenging. He's a nice prof. He makes the class manageable. Good luck.

Mohanty is an easy grade. I learned in this class but only because I took personal initiative because I love stats. Put in minimal effort & you'll get a good grade. He dumbs the class down to the lowest common denominator of student. You'll learn how to plug in formulas & less how to implement the concepts in real-world analysis. Real nice guy.

Prof. Mohanty is great. He's personable and cares about getting students through the course at their differing levels of interest. He's available for questions and gives a lot of examples. I love stats but this wasn't a very challenging section to take. His tests are explicitly laid out which is a major bonus if you want a good easy grade.

Professor has very strong Indian accent. 1 midterm & 1 final, 1 paper. Grades easily. He tells you exactly what's going to be on the midterm & final. *Accent just takes getting used to. *First half before midterm is a lot easier then after the midterm so make sure to pay SUPER attention AFTER the midterm because it gets COMPLICATED! *Attend EVERY class not cuz it's mandatory only because you will regret not showing up for one class. *Great Man! If you are afraid or unsure about math TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He is an absolute gem of a Stats teacher, Extremely Helpful, teachings are clear as day, tests based entirely on homework assigned, and does not try and trick you with unnecessary work on tests. Class is made up of 1 midterm, & 1 final. NOT CUMULATIVE! Do the homework & show up to class.
