I did a summer internship with Ben and learnt so much. He gave me the power to make company decisions, took my opinions into consideration, and treated me as an equal rather than intern. I had the opportunity to apply what I learnt in class to real life situations and am grateful to have worked with such a kind, passionate, and caring human being.

He was pretty cool. HE tried his best to help us out, but sometimes he didn't keep track of things very well. Like he told us about an assignment the first week of the semester and didn't talk about it for 10 weeks, then was like oh yeah its due next week

Ben does not understand the simplest of tasks. He is always utterly confused. He will asign groups on a project and weeks later email us to ask us what our groups are. Ben is a nice guy but a terrible teacher. Easy class but hard to deal with. Ben is always late and seems to have no interest in teaching. I have learned nothing from him!

Ben has no interest in teaching, he only seems to have taken this job so that he can have access to the perks and perhaps health insurance. If I had known what I know now I would have risked waiting another semester and dropped the class instead of listening to him ignore questions and leave class once the film starts.

Excellent Class!! I took this class at the University of IL at Chicago... Ben-Hur was able to provide an extensive and clear discussion of Latin American and Latino Film. Very knowledgeable professor. Great assignments... not to mention the "A" I got in the class :-)

Learned nothing. Seemed to know some stuff just couldn't teach it. Would tell me things that contradicted two other teachers I had had. And then insisted he was right. I would look up the answeres online...he was wrong.

this guy does not let out early once, and lets us out late EVERY class. so make sure you have your entire day free because he never stops. hes a horribly hard grader and will never emails that you sent. hes not a bad guy, and the class has to do with his BORING class but i suggest take another teacher or you wont get wha tyou want out of the class

Ben-Hur (that's actually his name) is a pretty ok guy. He is really nice, but a hard grader. His lectures at the beginning of the semester were pretty hard to sit through, but I'm not sure how much of that was his fault.

Had him for History of Cinema--HORRIBLE teacher. I don't think I've ever said that about a teacher before, but this guy just plain doesn't know his stuff and can't explain anything very clearly. Part of the point of having a teacher is to be able to learn from THEM, not to have to go home and read from the book yourself.

Ben's a real nice guy and a very good teacher. He's so nice he has a hard time telling you that your films stink (as in my case!) He does grade pretty hard so watch out for that.
