She will not keep your attention for more than three minutes. She does not know how to engage the students in her lectures. They are the most boring lectures you will ever sit through with some of the most useless information. However she does give you a study guide before every exam. The class isn't too bad but she just isn't a good professor.

Had her for two graduate courses. Tests way too easy. Needed only needed one credit to graduate. Unfortunately, she made no sense, said she got her information from the internet. Told some students in class she only had to give a c, had an A average and would still graduate with C. She is clueless and makes it up as she goes if she does.

Comment:

For a writing intensive it was super easy. Doesn't care if ppl come to class or even sleep in class but if you miss 2 days at most you get an A on the final (10 pts.) Lets ppl turn stuff in almost whenever. I like history but she just made class EXTREMELY boring. Doesn't engage the class at all. Just talks.

Tests are very straight and easy. Also the easiest writing intensive class I have had. If you take 170W. Only 3 to 4 papers that are 2 to 3 pages long.

Honestly, the class was ridiculously easy. I brought a novel to read in every class since she can get pretty boring. She gave out a study guide for every test. Never paid attention and got an A.

This class is hands down the least interesting class I have ever taken. She no longer knows how to relate to students. If you only miss two class periods throughout the semester she gives you an automatic A on the final. Easy class but very dull.

Good person. Average Professor. The lectures are very badly organized. Too many videos. But She is always willing to help and she is very fair in terms of grading. A previous poster was correct: Greek was interesting. Roman, I learned nothing at all. Should be separate classes. Overall, could be better.

If you want to take this class, take it as writing intensive. Tests are essays but are very easy, we only write 5 total papers besides. Hanke is liberal, but I still enjoyed the information she presented, despite the fact that many students fell asleep every morning (8 AM class) Do your work and you'll do well. 92% = A She rounded me up :)

This person wants to write white males out of history.I don't really understand why as they are the only type of males that would tolerate her holding the position of influence that she has.She should move the Arab world or sub saharan Africa and see what kind of voice she would have.For a distorted Marxist view of history take this womans course.

This professor is very UNINSPIRING. If you have any passion for history at all do not take this instructor's course as it will drain it from you. Plays favorities. When this instructor chose to be a teacher she went down the wrong path. No good.
