A lot of group work. You will need the textbook for the take home final. I split the cost with another classmate. The rubric of the outlines and group presentations are easy. Didn't really take any notes in class since she likes to lecture a lot. Overall an easy class if you show up on time and do the work.

Comment:

Great class overall. Attendance is mandatory since the take-home final is based on her lectures. The speeches aren't that bad, just be sure to cite your sources and make an outline. The outline is a lot of writing though, so make sure you don't leave it for the last minute since it's a lot of work.

She cares about her students and is easily accessible outside of class. Very tough grader, expects you to know everything even when she fails to explain what she wants specifically. Had to give like 5-6 speeches in the semester. Overall, shes a good professor but doesnt really help students that have trouble speaking publicly.

Professor Seplow was a great communication teacher, she assigned 4 speeches and 1 group project in which each member was graded individually. Participation is important as well as attendance. Super helpful and available by phone even during weekends unlike most professors. Would take class again.

Professor Seplow is amazing. She really does care about you passing. Theres one take home final but its pretty lengthy but definitely doable. Show up, participate, do the work, and dont take your phones out.

The professor is very nice and gives feedback on all your speeches. Her class had helped me improve a lot and I am grateful for that. You also have to show up to class and take notes for the final.

The class is pretty easy to get a good grade in if you put in effort. There was 4 speeches where one of them was a group discussion in front of the class. You can call and e-mail the proffessor (within reasonable hours) for whatever issue you may have. The only exam is a take home final that feels more like a homework packet than a test.

Professor Seplow is a great choice. She is both a great person and a great professor. She really cares about your progress as a proficient public orator, and makes it easier in the classroom environment by making it a healthy and open space. There are fiveish speeches, and as long as you follow the desired rubric, you will do great!

Professor is very caring. She is lecture heavy and final will be based on her lectures and some material comes from the textbook but the readings are not required. Very pleasant and keeps the clSs alive. Excellent choice for Com1010

definitely have to do put in the work for this class to do well. doesn't like students reading off outlines for speeches, but that's given because you need good eye contact. always be on time and prepared!!

No homework, just papers, outlines and speeches. Easy class as long as you work on your projects ahead of time. No phones and participation matters in class. Shes strict on citations and in-text citations. She can be critical at times, so dont take things personal and accept and learn what would help you. Just do as she says and youll get an A.

She is a very knowledgeable individual and has a great personality. Punctuality is important to her so make sure you are on time. The class really helped me to get over my fear of public speaking! I highly recommend taking her!

Professor Seplow will make sure that you leave her class as a good public speaker. She definitely makes you work for your grade but with her help and accessibility to students, it shouldnt be hard to pass her class. She is always willing to help with speech outlines and Gives amazing feedback. Would 100% take another class of hers again.

I took Professor Seplow for Group Communications class. The semester consisted of 3 groups presentations, and a take-home final at the end. The group presentations were educational and fun. You just need to put in the work to write, and research material for your presentations. Prof. Seplow demands respect and cares for her students. Great class!
