Comment:

Took him for Calculus 3. Often he would go off on tangents about history. Infact, many of his lectures were him randomly talking about history. He makes a lot of mistakes on the board and his writing is hard to follow. I learned most of the material on YouTube. His quizzes are open note and are easy, but the midterm and final were difficult.

Comment:

Lets be honest, Calculus 3 is a tough course. That being said, it is made even more difficult because of Biao Ou. He constantly makes mistakes on the board and is difficult to follow during class. Quizzes are written on the board though they are open note. I received 60s on both midterms and ended with a B in the class.

Going to his lectures was useless. He would often go off on tangents such as discussing the Great Wall of China. Only passed this class because of an amazing TA. He even admitted that the TA was better at teaching than he was.

Do not even bother in the class. we have your teacher assistant to rely on, the professor always goes on about life questions, and always goes on like he is in his own world, assuming we know everything. if you take him, rely on your teacher assistant. will never take this professor again

He goes off on non-related tangents very often. (spent a whole lecture talking about the great wall of China). Quizzes every other week but they are very easy, open note, open everything. My class made a group chat and would send quiz answers to each other (during the quiz!) Had A. Fernandez for recitation and learned everything during her class.

He literally cannot teach at all. You will learn almost nothing from lecture. The TA is who teaches for him. Homework and attendance is not mandatory. There is a quiz almost every week but it's open note/book and calculator so those are really easy and help with your grade. Exams you cannot use anything, aka no calculator. He is the worst professor

He answers direct questions with "didn't you read the book?" Need I say more? Biao will not care if you do not keep up. He falls asleep during tests (the final) and does not teach material well. Open book quizzes. Hard tests. Doesn't care. I wouldn't take again... but not a hard A.

I would advise everyone to stay away from this professor. He is not helpful,you can tell that he does not care to explain if you do not understand the material. He assumes that the class already knows the material, so he flies through his lectures and as a result, he messes up and does a lot of erasing on the board. He faces the board and speaks.

is hard to understand b/c he mumbles and talks to the board but quizzes are open note and book. on tests if you have half an idea of what you are doing you will get almost full credit even if the answer is wrong. got a B+ with no effort at all

He was somewhat hard to understand because he talks to the board half of the time and just read everything out of the book...didn't really teach much. But, even if you got a problem wrong on the test, he gave you full credit for just showing the work. Also gives weekly quizzes that are open note & book, so it's easy to maintain an A.

Comment:

Hard to understand, more or less talks to the board. Going to class is useless, I ended up learning most of it myself. Quizzes are open book/note with a calculator; really easy. Exams on the other hand were too long for me to finish and the problems were a bit more difficult. The final though was pretty easy, and he did curve the grades too.
