Professor Shapiro is a rare thing at Columbia and among professors in general these days - he genuinely cares about his students and takes the time to assist them in any way he can. And he looks almost exactly like Woody Allen, which was extra fun for me as someone who previously lived in the Midwest and imagined New Yorkers to be just like Allen.
