Fantastic teacher, it was an extremely difficult class, the tests are timed so its rushing and they are all fill in so its you know it or you don't if you can do it you will learn a lot from the class. He's very knowledgeable and helps you become more politically aware. Willing to help and talk.

This class is difficult, but it is also very rewarding. Champion is an amazing lecturer; there was always something interesting. Champion is the reason I changed my major to political science. Make sure to thoroughly do the readings and memorize for quizzes. The tests are primarily memorization. He does grade the essays pretty easily.

He was amazing! I loved him. The only thing was there was a TON of reading to do, and it was awfully overwhelming. He'd test you over like, a name of a prime minister when you had about 100 pages of reading. But have no fear! The test is CURVED SO HIGH. that everyone would fail without it. ;) Just be nice and pay attention, you'll be fine!

Champion is a really sweet grandfatherly type figure. His class, though, was killer - definitely harder than I expected. The quizzes can be hard to do well in, and there is just SO much reading to keep up in. I hear this is pretty standard for polisci classes though. Very interesting class, just TONS and TONS of info to remember.

Great teacher who's very helpful and knows the material very well. He has a good sense of humor and the lectures are usually very interesting. However, the class is sometimes more difficult than it needs to be.

He is my favorite professor here at BYU...so good! He lectures a lot, but I always found it pretty interesting. Don't miss class and study hard and you'll get a decent grade with the curve. Tests are pretty hard, essays are relatively easy.

The prior comments about Champion are misleading. The class is boring, and you are forced to do ridiculous amounts of work for a 100 level class. Quizzes every week which are nearly impossible to do well on, and the midterm and final are impossible to do well on on. Take my advice, avoid this class at all costs! Take it at the SLC center!

The class is interesting, but he makes you write down so many notes that it is hard to absorb it all. You have no time to listen to what he is saying during class because you are constantly scribbling down the notes. Tests & quizzes are hard and he's a ridiculous grader. If you make something plural that isn't supposed to be he'll mark it wrong.

Such an awesome class, I've switched majors because of it. It was my favorite class this semester, by far. Take lots of notes, memorize the definitions, know the acronyms, and you'll to just fine. I've talked to a lot of other students who took the class from other professors and from Champion, and everyone says his class is the absolute best.

I LOVED this class! I took it last year from a different professor and failed, but Prof. Champion explained everything much better. This isn't an easy class, but if you take good (and fast) notes you'll do well. He was also extremely helpful when I had to miss classes and make up work. Highly recommended!

I loved this class, it was so interesting and Champion really knows what he is talking about. But its not a breeze, you have to write really fast and make sure you study because his quizzes are hard. You will do well as long as you study a lot. I would definately recommend this class.

very interesting class, you learn a lot! the quizes and tests are quite challenging so you really have to study. he always finds a way to test you on something you forgot to study. as long as you don't slack off and give it the attention it deserves then it's not too difficult... and make sure you can take down notes really fast- you'll have a lot!

He does not use blackboard so you write about 1 or 2 full pages of notes each class. Memorize a lot of terms and abbreviations. The multiple choice quiz questions give 10 possible answers, so you have to know your stuff. He's very smart and interesting, but there are a lot of notes and the quizzes are hard, plus there are a few papers. Recommended.
