Comment:
Brian is kind of a wild card. He is a very laid back guy who likes to joke around all class. However, he is disorganized, takes a while to grade, and the grading scheme for class is kind of arbitrary. He randomly threw on us that we had three papers due within a week and a half span while not having anything due for the entire month prior.

This is probably the most humorous professor I've ever had. He connects everything he talks about to something pretty weird and it always gets a laugh. A very deep thinker where much of what he said went way over my head and wasn't always sure what we were doing or talking about, but he has a great personality.

Brian is a chill teacher that is always ready to tell you an interesting story, however he is such an unexpectedly hard grader. The class isn't hard its just not very many assignments are graded and he grades hard.

For the whole semester, we were only asigned two, small homework assignments. There was no real structure to the class, we absolutely did not follow the syllabus. Brian is an odd man with interesting stories. I felt like I really learned a lot in his class. It was kick-ass.

He is the easiest professor I have ever had. As long as you show up you will pass. Never had homework or test. If your looking for an easy class get him as your professor.

Knowledgeable, nerdy, good offbeat sense of humor, very helpful, fair, sometimes hard to figure out what he wants in an answer. Makes you think.I enjoyed his class, readings were enjoyable, a little difficult. You have to work, tries to associate daily issues (sex, drugs, music) with the material taught in class. Classes are informal, very kick back.

Brian is so awesome. I highly recommend anything he teaches. His sense of humor is different so I think some people misunderstand him, but he's great.

I was so excited about the class when I started, but after a couple months of him always showing up late and grumpy to class and spending almost as much time complaining about how we students all drink too much as talking about literature I got totally fed up with him. He also "interpreted" a lot of things in semi-offensive ways. Not a good time.

I'm quite surprised by some of these comments. My experience was that he was a genuinely nice guy and a pretty good teacher. Always welcomed and in fact encouraged participation in lecture. Work was never too much yet was disappointed by my test grades. They seemed easy but were subjective and thus graded tough!

Kind of an awkward guy, but he's an interesting teacher. Seems to be really great in a small class compared to a large one. Took a long time to get papers back, but he was honest and fair about that fact.

Gollnick likes to wait 5 minutes for someone to answer his stupid questions. He's an awkward guy, so I kind of felt bad for him. Had moments of humor, but I generally just felt embarrassed for him. Relatively easy material, but not an interesting class. Skip it if you can!!

This professor is condescending and gives sleep-inducing lectures. The only plus is the music he plays in the first few minutes of class, but unfortunately that is not enough to make the class worth-while.

Talks about LSD and hippie-concerts in class, which makes everyone fidget. Thinks power-point is the greatest invention ever. Notes on the internet are unclear because he layers his powerpoint slides and they don't print correctly. Skip him if you can.

Pompus and condesending. Tries to be funny. Attempts to connect but often makes students uncomfortable when they make a mistake. If you're a spanish major or minor expect to take a course with him. T.A.s do most of the work. Disscussions manditory.

A PowerPoint god! A good lecturer. Tries to be funny, connect with the students. A really good job of communicating complex ideas in simple Spanish. A little condescending but who's not ...
