I really liked Cal. He is loud, goofy, and really cares about you. All lectures are online with audio, which i recommend using. He talks really fast. The class has a lot of homework, but honestly, I learned a lot because of it. Also, he goes over the exam thoroughly before you take it AND you can retake them.

Cal Garbin is by far the best professor I have had. His class is not that hard as he allows you multiple opportunities to redo tests and assignments, but it is a lot of work and you need to stay on top of it. He is hilarious and despite having tons of students he will always respond to your emails and meet with you whenever.

Even though attendance isn't required, go to class! Cal is an awesome teacher who gives you plenty of time and help to do well. There is lots of homework, so make sure to stay on schedule. Lab was the only part I didn't enjoy because I didn't have a good lab instructor.

Cal is by far the best professor I've had thus far in my three years of college. GREAT GUY. He genuinely wants you to succeed and understand the material. He makes lectures lively, entertaining and interesting. There's no way for you not to learn something if you do all the assignments, and available study materials, (which there are plenty of).

Cal gives you A LOT of stuff to do. Lots of quizzes. Lots of lecturing. Lots of homework. Prepare to study! But he does it because he cares! It really helps you learn. You wants you to learn and so it he makes you do little things every day instead of cramming everything at once. He will always help you so just reach out. Super cool guy!

Cal is the best psych professor at UNL, hands down. He knows his stuff and if you put in the work and go to lecture, you will too. Class had lots of work to stay on top of. He walks you through every part of every test and what you'll need to know. He is switching from Blackboard to Canvas Fall 2018, so maybe consider taking after this transition.

Cal is an awesome person and is super funny. The class has a lot of homework, but almost all of the lecture homework is a completion grade. Depending on your lab TA, the lab isn't too hard to do well in. Sometimes his lectures can be confusing, but he is always willing to help and the homework makes some of it more clear.

Cal has been the best teacher in my college experience. He is hilarious and always down for a chat. Great at explaining things and works hard for his students to understand the material.

I like Cal as a person, but the amount of material he throws at you, Pink things Green things and all the lab homework is obnoxious. My entire week is based around his class, because there is never nothing to do in it. He's helpful. But it is just frustrating that he says he "understands that we're in other classes" but yet gives us so much work.

Cal is one of my favorite professors I've ever had - I've taken all three classes he offers, and love him both as a teacher and a person. If anyone else taught this class I would have bombed but Cal knows exactly how to explain and make things understandable.

The online work can get to be a lot so you have to keep on top of it. Cal can be super helpful in office hours if you can get him to stay by you (sometimes hard to do). If you have questions just ask, he will help as much as you need. Cares about his students and wants them to do well. Do the practice tests!

Cal is one of the best professors that I have had at UNL. The class is difficult but he gives you all the tools to help you be successful. Don't fall behind on the homework because it really helps you understand what is presented in the lectures. He is super easy to talk to and is willingly to help students out in any way possible.

Cal is by far the best Professor I have ever had in college. He has gone above and beyond for me and is so understanding and truly wants what's best for his students. He wants every one of his students to succeed and will do whatever he can to help them do so. I would highly recommend taking one of his courses!!! I love this professor so much!!!

There's no way to explain how much you'll love this guy unless you're talking to another person who has had the pleasure of being in one of his classes. Cal is down-to-earth, cares very deeply about your success and make a subject that is otherwise not very fun a lot of fun to learn about. Best professor I've had in my eight years in school.

Cal is an absolutely incredible professor, academic, professional-- you name it. Go to class, take in all the funny anecdotes, and use absolutely every study tool he gives you access to. You will not have another professor of this caliber and will be thankful you gave this class your attention and made it your priority. (PS-take early in undergrad)

This is a pretty hard class, but Cal is absolutely great. He makes it interesting and is always available/willing to help when something doesn't make sense. He really cares about his students and what he teaches and is a funny guy, which makes lectures easier to sit through. Beware: this class is SO much work, so don't fall behind!

Cal is the best! He makes the difficult statistics easy to understand and wants you to succeed. As long as you do the homework and keep up with the class you should pass with no problems! He's quite comical and makes class easy to get through. Also lets you out early more often than not. Loved class & will take another with him!

Cal is probably THE best! Truly makes relatively difficult information very easy to understand. He is extremely thorough and only teaches exactly what you need to know, no bull. He also does not make you purchase a book! You are able to repeat and redo assignments to get the best grade you CHOOSE to. Definitely recommend!

Class is hard, but that's what you get for taking an advanced research methodology class. Content wise harder than 350, but maybe less work.
