Comment:
He strictly lectures, doesn't use any technology. His tests are very difficult but curved at the end. You must read the textbook. The information is quite interesting but it's easy to get bored during his lectures.

He is super vague in lecture. The tests are extremely tough and he grades on a curve: the mean of the class (usually between 50% and 65%) is put at a B. Please save yourself the hassle and do not take this course (and probably not the professor, either).

He's tough. There is no denying that. BUT.. He is an amazing professor. The material we discussed was interesting and important. He knows his stuff and truly wants the students to know it too. He isn't about memorizing facts; you have to unpack the material and apply it. BEST professor I've had! I will be taking more of his classes!

Your entire grade is 3 tests, a grand total of 105 points. I've had single assignments worth more than what this class is which screws you when you answer his vague ?'s incorrectly. Avg test score is 60%. He has to curve the average score to a B or else everyone fails. He rambles on in lecture and you must remember every detail. Reading is a must.

I think that people are saying that he is hard because he really wants you to unpack cases, and think critically. He has an AMAZING background as a Forensic Psychiatrist, and I will be taking Juvenile law with him. Go to class, do all the readings, think outside the box, participate in class = A. But for some,I guess that's to much to ask..

It's a very different change of pace than other professors nowadays. He is old fashioned and strictly does lecture. Be sure to take good notes during lecture since he'll always put some of each lecture on the test. It's hard though because grade is based on 3 tests. Just do better than the class average and you'll be fine!

Your entire grade is three tests, each with 35 multiple choice questions. Most people get a 22/35. Thus, he has to curve the average score to a B or else everyone fails. He rambles on in lecture and you must remember almost everything he says, even minute details. Reading is a must, and it is dense and complicated. Not worth my time.

Extremely difficult class. He lectures without any visual aids and they are hard to follow. Test questions are almost irrelevant to what we learned in class. Most questions are very specific reading material he does not talk about. Nice person, and definitely knows his stuff. Curves the class so the average test grade is a B since most people fail.

He's not boring if you're interested in the material. He's getting a little old and bumbling, which can be entertaining, but he really does know a lot and loves what he teaches. If you're pre-law, his exam questions are truly not that hard; they're similar to very easy LSAT questions. Don't worry, just don't blow off studying either.

he is a nice guy but his tests r way too difficult for what he talks about in class! they are very specific details...and for the amount of reading its impossible! I really like the subject matter, but the tests are ridiculous. plus, you only have 3, 35 question multi-choice exams, so no room for error!

It's been years since I took the class, but it was packed full of facinating information. I have to admit he was a bit dry in his lectures and it is upon the student to independantly gain something from the course.

Got to take his class on homicide. Very interesting and knowledgable on the matter. If he didn't remind me of my grandpa I might be afraid of him.
