NEVER taken Spanish and took this 6 week summer crash course .. BIG MISTAKE!!!Overloaded with homework but even though I did ALL of it and could also understand him by week two, he threatened not to pass me for not grasping a concept and my grade WAS PASSING! If your not up to "HIS" par of being able to understand the class.. WATCH OUT!

Comment:

This class is easy to pass, but I do not advise taking him if you did not pass Spanish 1 with a strong A. He speaks in Spanish almost 100% of the time, starting the first day. Even directions on tests are written in Spanish. He is also very disorganized and sometimes forgetful.

I took this to finish the lang req. His class is hard since its 99% in Spanish. He expects you to be at a strong level 2 Spanish not beginner level 2. He is teaching a level 3-4 Spanish based on most students test score who have several years to include high school Spanish, which I never took.

Comment:

Rand is a great teacher! After having a less than pleasant span1 teacher, rand made it interesting to be in spanish. Be aware that he DOES take ATTENDANCE every class, he WORKS IN GROUPS and expects that you correct mistakes on hw assignments everytime to receive 100. Reviews were great to prep for test, he does use the textbk a lot!

Sr. Rand is an amazing teacher. I took him for both Spanish 1 and 2 and will probably take him for 3 and 4. He uses flashcards, games, and demonstrations to help you to understand. He explains everything very well too. If I wasn't running out of space I could keep going. Show up study do the homework and you will make an A. Take Him!

I took Spanish I at UT, and barely passed...so I was worried about Span II, but Professor Rand made it really easy.SO NICE, clearly loves teaching--showed movies, had flashcard games, oral was 1 on 1, and tests weren't too bad. I'm sure I deserved a C, but he gave me a B. Take him. : )

Best spanish teacher I have ever had. He is easy, but you will learn alot. I had taken Tod Philops class before his and could not pass any of his tests. Then, I took Carlos and got an A! I highly advise anyone to take his class. weather you just need an A or really just want to learn the language.

I took him for spanish 3 and he is so easy! he's really nice too, esp to the ladies. Very clear and gives ALOT of examples. Likes those who read ahead and participate..Very clear on what he expects on the tests, felt like i was in highschool
