Comment:
Krinsky is the worst professor I've had yet. Her in class presentations are all over the place and does not provide adequate information for students to review them. She doesn't even put the name, date or origin in her slides. They're just a bunch of images, and many of them are outside of the textbook. It's almost impossible to do well

The only prof who cared enough to be honest w/ me and give me constructive advice to better myself for even beyond college. Years later I look back at her emails when I need to get my sh*t together. She really is inspirational and does care about her students. It's NYU, it should be hard. Suck it up. In her words, "keep thinking, keep reading".

Attendance is taken every lecture and she has a special spot on the paper for people who show up late. Workload isn't too bad - some reading responses, a museum paper, and a final essay. Quizzes are tough, very specific and she expects you to use her phrasing (and proper grammar!) from lecture. Grading is definitely unclear at times.

I won't deny that her classes are very difficult, but you'll probably learn as much about grammar and proper syntax as you will about the subject. What she teaches you about communication is invaluable.

I took her History of Western Art I course. It was definitely challenging and lecture attendance is mandatory (she takes attendance!). She can be quite unkind to students who are struggling and she expects a high standard of performance. Lots of people struggled in the class (most people got Cs and Ds).

Professor Krinsky is my favorite professor of all time. I felt she is the kind of person who never ages because she is so passionate about art history and you definitely feel it while taking her class. My TA is also the BEST TA EVER. If you have any problem learning, just go talk to her! She is the most caring professor I've ever met.

YES the class is very difficult. But you do learn a lot. Grade is one thing. the most important thing is that I actually learn a LOT in her class. She is one of beat lecturer at NYU and she's very inspirational. Take it if you actually want to learn something in college

(Art History I) I went into this class apprehensive, but if you listen in lecture and recitation and read the textbook, you should be okay for quizzes. I can't guarantee papers; she stresses grammar and precision of word choice, but weekly one-page responses to readings should help.

This was the worst Professor I have ever had. She does not accept if you have any sort of learning disability. Even if you don't, I got all the answers right on a quiz and she says she doesn't care about grammar or any of that and I GOT A D on my quizzes. She is impossible and doesn't remember anything you tell her. DO NOT TAKE HER COURSE.

THE MOST UNORGANIZED professor. The syllabus and the instruction are VERY unclear. Tough grader, not flexible on how a student should think about art. Fine with being difficult, not fine with wasting time guessing.

Professor Krinsky is the least organized professor I've had ever. She does not write anything on the syllabus and springs up finals and quizzes last minute. She changes assignment dates the night before they are due. Furthermore, she blames students for her own lack of foresight. Do not take her. She makes me regret my minor.

This was an amazing class that taught a lot. I should not have taken it. Not an art history major, just thought it would be fun. A lot of memorization (she is really not kidding about dropping if you can't remember dates!) My only complaint is that I was told several times it would be holistic grading and my grade definitely does not reflect that.

No study guides/slide lists; take good notes or bring the text book to class in order to keep track of the titles, dates, artists names for the works. She also expects a high level of writing competence and is very particular about grammar/diction. ie. don't say "unique" unless it's the only one in existence... Art Hist is not an easy A

I am tired of hearing complaints about Prof K's "toughness." You are in college. Are you not here to learn? If you are not serious about architecture, why take the class? It seems that the people giving Prof K bad reviews all had her for Art 01. Take Modern Arch if you are a mature student who will sacrifice time to gain valuable knowledge.

I've taken Professor Krinsky's history of architecture, modern architecture and she is my advisor for my honors thesis. She is very knowledge on her subjects and a great lecturer after 50 years' teaching. So far the most inspiring, caring and supportive professor I've encountered in four years. She's an absolutely adorable person to befriend with!

the tests are tough but she herself is one of the most inspiring and caring teachers that I have known. She tries hard to make sure everybody has leant real stuff even tho that makes you miserable. If u want to learn and get solid knowledge she's perfect but if u want to boost your gpa better stay away from this course.

This class was frustrating, to say the least. Grades are very sporadic and subjective. Just because you get everything correct does not mean you will get an A. The class is unorganized, TAs unhelpful. Krinsky is old fashioned, but what did you expect? Do your work, show up to class, and smile graciously when she gives you a less then deserved grade
