Prof. Gifford is a terrific professor, however unfortunately she retired at the end of 2010. Excellent teacher (real old school, and that is a compliment) she knew how to teach and get the best out of her class. If you were afraid of public speaking before her class you werent at the end. She will be missed!

she is a tough lady and sometimes very intimidating, but what she says is true. She's a very intelligent person and has interesting views on life. She was one of the best teachers I've had. She is also a generous grader. Very few tests/hw and if you pay attention you don't even have to read the book

I was very nervous about taking speech for years, but Pro. Gifford made it a breeze. Attendance and class participation are very important to her; my perfect attendance and class participation helped me to get an A even though I got mostly B's and B+'s on my speeches. Show up, participate and do the speeches and you'll be fine. Highly Recommended!

I had this Prof for Public Speaking and she really gave me a hard time. She was probably the hardest teacher I had. She is not disrespectful though, just a very hard & demanding Prof. She gave me an A when I thought I was getting at best a C. I was floored & flabergasted when she gave me that A. Still am.

I Have to admit she is the best professor i ever had. Amazing professor. Pay attention to what she says and u just have to skim through the book. Be prepared for her every class. Dont miss any of her classes and you will be great. An easy A and u get to learn very useful aspects in ur future carer and life. HIGHLY RECOMENDED

Very old lady. She is very generous grader when you either show up to every class or volunteer alot. I think I deserved a B in the class and she gave me an A because I showed up every class. Very wise and has an interesting take on life. I would recommend taking her class.

Prof. Gifford is an excellent instructor. She really cares about her students and makes sure that they are prepared to begin their careers with the art of public speaking mastered. Highly Recommend if you desire to be successful in your respective career.
